This weeks Theme is Shiny
This is a photo of Cloud Gate. It’s a sculpture in Downtown Chicago. Locals call it “The Bean”. It’s amazing! When we were in Chicago I spent more time walking around the bean, and under it, than I did any other sight that I went to in all of Chicago.
Isn’t that amazing?
Here’s a close up view. The large structure that you can see reflected in the background is Millennium Park. I posted a photo of the outdoor theater on my gardening website. You should visit to take a better look at it because it’s an amazing design too.
Cool.
I just loved Chicago. I was only there for three days, but I found that it was very much like Toronto. I felt very much at home there.
Maybe Chris and I will end up going to Chicago again this summer.
BTW when these photo was posted on another site someone wondered if it was photoshopped. Nope. This is the way The Bean looks. It’s just that cool. If you ever go to Chicago you must see Cloud Gate.
Love that bean the reflection is most awesome and wow… it’s so huge, isn’t it… Great share – perfect for shiny!
I emailed you x’s two – did you get them (just now in reply to your comments)?
wow … great shots! … and it does look like a giant jelly bean!
amazing reflections you caught, too!
Tricia…you sure know how to post up nice photos. I’ll be visiting your 3rd site in a short while to comment. Well done!
A giant metal bean in Chicago?! Now I must visit!
The question of photoshopping is probably because your photos are so bright and clear.
Very cool photos! Guess it’s time I visited my brother in Chicago! 😀
These are great shots, especially the first one.. I see why they call it a bean and the cloud gate as well… Someday…..
That’s so cool. I wonder who is in charge of keeping it clean, lol.
