I didn’t get around to getting the photos I took yesterday off my new camera. I still have to upload the software onto the computer and figure out if I have to convert raw mode photos to jpg or if the camera will do it on it’s own when I transfer the photos.
However, I did promise that I’d post a photo from my garden and I thought you might enjoy this beautiful clematis flower. I grow this clematis on a bamboo arch at the entrance to my backyard garden. The clematis is quite large and quickly grew to cover the whole arch by the end of May.
I also grow a rose called Breath of Life on this trellis and it’s blooms are a pale peach. Picture this flower blooming at the same time as pale peach roses … lovely isn’t it?
Oh, did I tell you that this is large clematis? Each bloom is about five inches wide! They’re huge!
BTW if anyone loves this clematis it’s name is – clematis hybrid Seiboldiana. Also, if you enjoy this one you’ll totally fall in love with the velvet like clematis that I have a photo of on my photoblog!
Hi Tricia–
Again, this is outstanding! I have a clematis in my back yard that barely blooms and never seems to grow.
Any tips?
Wonderful clematis! Looks to be in perfect health!
I love these flowers. I also love a lot of what we can grow down here in Florida, but I miss the lush quality of northern blooms.
I really ought to start a garden section on my FL blog
Hi Tricia,
I’ve given you one of the very first Creative Blogger Awards, you can pick up the award at Writer’s Reviews.com.
Christy:)
I always enjoy seeing your flower pictures. They are quite beautiful.
As a very amateur photographer but advanced Photoshop user I have to ask, what is the draw of raw mode? What do you get there that you don’t get with a high resolution jpg?
I’m just curious
2 things… the first thing is that i love the quality of that picture, do you have a very good camera?
2nd thing is that my wife said im stupid for asking that and she just loves the flower..
guess i will have to come to your garden and snatch it for her..haha.. j/k
Nice photo of the flower. Photo looks like HD (high def). Anyways, you must have a very nice garden.
Hey Doc – Clematis enjoy sun but at the same time they like to have their roots shaded so growing a plant in front of one to keep the roots cool is a great idea. Also, try amending your soil – perhaps it needs more compost or mulch in it so that it will hold moisture better.
Blog hopping! What a lovely shot! Hope to see more photos.
Great photo. I love the detail and color. What camera did you use? What settings? Thanks.
Jim
They are reay huge 5 inch. Also nic picture.
Very nice blooms!! Thanks for posting! I’ve yet to plant any clematis, but they’re already on my list for next year! Happy GTS, and Happy Gardening!! 🙂
