Pain I can do without

November 6, 2008 by Tricia

Sorry I haven’t made any new posts in a while. I’ve been very ill over the last week or so, well probably longer than that. As usual it’s the Crohn’s disease acting up again.

If you’ve ever had the flu or perhaps bad diarrhea you might be familiar with that sharp pain you get in your stomach just before you have to run to the washroom? Well that’s what my stomach has felt like for at least a week and a half – luckily without too many dashes to the washroom, just the cramps and a constant gnawing pain in my stomach. My fevers have also been worse – higher and pretty much constant.

So, needless to say, I haven’t really been able to concentrate on writing, answering comments or emails in the last while.

I am feeling a little better than I was earlier today. If I’m lucky perhaps I’ll start to feel better soon.

Oh that’s awful! My mom has Crohn’s so I sympathize. What is causing your pain?

Please rest and take care of yourself. God bless you, and I pray you feel better very soon!!!!

Hope you are feeling much better by now I only have IBS and that is uncomfortable enough so I pity you with Crohn’s.

To all who have left comments I appreciate your kind thoughts. it seems that every Autumn and Spring my Crohn’s really flares up. Actually I’ve been in pretty much a constant Crohn’s flare for over three years, but some days or weeks are much worse than others and this is the worst in a long while. I think I might be getting a little bit better though. (fingers crossed!)

Mrs. Mecomber thank you for your kind thoughts. I’m sorry to hear that your mother has Crohn’s as well. 🙁

I have strictures in a few areas of my bowel and I also seem to have a tendency to develop abscesses on them as well, so one or the other is likely causing the increase in pain.

Jackie IBS is bad enough. I’m sorry that you suffer from that – I hope that you can find a way to manage it soon. My doctors think I probably have some IBS going on with the Crohn’s as well.

Thank you for your comment and kind thoughts.
