Did you know that Britney Spears performed for the first time in three years on Tuesday night? She did a 14 minute set for screaming fans in San Diego. Now we know why she’s been working on her dance routines so much lately.
Spears wore a white pleated miniskirt and a black wig when she took the stage at San Diego’s House of Blues. Security guards held fans back as she lip synced her hit songs – Baby one more time, Do Something, I’m a slave 4 U, Breath for me and Toxic.
The show had the usual Spears coined effects of rapid fire costume changes, back up dancers and light and smoke effects. Britney even pulled a male fan up from the audience for a dirty dance.
The Millennium Dance Complex owner has heard Spears new work and says “They’ll be in the style we are all used to, the pop thing,” Robert Baker tells PEOPLE. “But she’s got bigger plans brewing, with music and dancing that’s a break from her old stuff. She’s really excited about that.”
Spears can also be seen playing at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California on Wednesday, and the Los Angeles House of Blues Thursday, and then the House of Blues Las Vegas inside Mandalay Bay on Sunday. No new songs will be performed.
There’s also no word as to why she lip synced her songs. I find that a little odd.
I had no idea it had been that long! I guess that since she never really was out of the headlines, I just didn’t realize she wasn’t preforming.
Woah, is it confirmed that she lip synced? I saw this news somewhere else and they didn’t mention that. Dang, I find it very sad if she did that but then again I guess it makes for more entertaining concerts if she doesn’t sing…
Any time she isn’t speaking, or singing has to be better than if she is. I seriously can’t think of one song she has ever performed that I would consider leaving on if it came on.
When will she just go away? She isn’t even attractive. She certainly isn’t talented unless she is good in the bedroom. She seems like a pretty bad lay to me…lol
