Have you ever been to the Burning Man festival? It’s an eight day festival in the Nevada Desert and it takes place from August 27th to September 3rd this year.
One of the highlights of the festival is the burning of a huge 40 foot tall man statue. The statue wasn’t supposed to be set aflame until Saturday, but an arsonist lit the statue and made it a burning man on Tuesday.
There are reports that festival participants were heard chanting “Save the man, save the man!”.
Authorities have charged Paul Addis for torching the statue and have charged him with Arson and a misdemeanor possession of fireworks.
The wooden statue will be rebuilt in time for the scheduled burning at 9 pm Saturday September 1st.
