Beyonce has finally broken her silence regarding Kanye West’s “interruption” at the Video Music Awards in September.

Beyonce Knowles lost to Taylor Swift for Best Female Video which prompted Kanye to storm the stage and grab the microphone from Swift as she accepted her award. Beyonce now says that she understands West’s motivation.

“Well, I knew his intentions, and I knew he was standing up for art; and he told me before, when they said the nominees, he’s like, ‘You have this award,’” she told O: The Oprah Magazine editor-at-large Gayle King.

“When they didn’t call my name he was, like, completely shocked,” Knowles, 28, added. “And when he walked on the stage, I was like, ‘No, no, no!’ and then he spoke, and I was like, ‘Oh, no, no, no!’ ”

Later in the evening Beyonce won Video of the Year and she graciously called Swift back on stage to let the Best Female video award winner finish her speech.

“In the end, it ended up being a great night, and Taylor Swift did get her moment – and I didn’t have to make an acceptance speech,” Knowles added with a laugh.

It’s been confirmed that Michael Jackson has passed away at the age of 50.

At approximately 12:21 pm PST this afternoon Los Angeles paramedics responded to a call to his home. It’s been reported that Jackson was not breathing when the paramedics arrived and resuscitation attempts were made as he was transported to UCLA medical center.

The health crisis came as the singer was trying to mount a massive comeback with a series of London concerts after his acquittal on child molestation charges in 2005.

In the last few months there have been reports that Michael Jackson was suffering from skin cancer and a lung disorder however his concert promoter has denied those rumors. Michael had to undergo several medical tests in order to be insured for his upcoming UK concert series and his health, as stated by the concert promoter was good.

Jackson had apparently been preparing for the upcoming concerts by working out so he’d be able to physically withstand the toll the concerts would take on him. He was training with Lou Ferrigno, the star of the TV show The Incredible Hulk. Perhaps his concert preparation weakened his heart.

It’s thought that Michael Jackson passed away due to a cardiac arrest. An autopsy will be performed on Friday.

As word of Jackson’s death spreads fans are gathering outside the UCLA medical center. His fans were always deeply faithful.

There are reports that some of Jackson’s family is already at the hospital and his parents who have a home in Las Vegas are on route to Los Angeles.

Michael has three children Prince Michael Jackson, born in 1997, and daughter Paris Michael Jackson, born in 1998 with his wife Debbie Rowe. Jackson later had a third child, Prince Michael Jackson II (nicknamed “Blanket”)

From People Magazine:

The tragic turn of events was just the latest twist in a life that will be remembered for career highs and personal lows. In his 50 years, Michael Jackson went from the cute little singer in his family’s group to dazzling headliner and unquestionably the reigning pop star of the ’80s to – amid accusations of child molestation – social outcast.

Early Career
The seventh of nine children of Joseph and Katherine Jackson, Michael was born in Gary, Ind., on Aug. 29, 1958, and began his career performing with his brothers. His professional debut with the Jackson 5 came at age 11.

The group set chart records with its first four singles, including “I Want You Back” and “ABC.” As a solo artist, Jackson also recorded four studio albums for Motown Records before moving, with his brothers, to Epic Records, where they continued to record as the Jacksons until 1984.

Forming a partnership with producer Quincy Jones after working together on the 1978 movie musical The Wiz – in which Jackson played a rather sheepish Scarecrow to Diana Ross’s Dorothy in this urban adaptation of The Wizard of Oz – Jackson released his solo album Off the Wall, which he co-produced with Jones. The disc spawned enduring hits including “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” and “Rock With You.” His second Epic solo album, 1982′s Thriller, is often cited as the best-selling album of all time.

The video for Thriller all but defined the music video genre and sent the album to the top of the sales charts for 37 weeks. (All told, it remained on the list 80 weeks.) It was also nominated for 12 Grammys and won eight.

On March 25, 1983, Jackson performed his single “Billie Jean” live on the Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever TV special, where he debuted the moonwalk, which was to become his signature dance move. The following year, the singer was filming a Pepsi-Cola commercial at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, where he suffered second-degree burns after pyrotechnics accidentally set his hair on fire before a full house. The singer settled out of court and established the Michael Jackson Burn Center with the $1.5 million he won after settling out of court.

In 1984, Jackson did his final tour with the Jacksons to the support the album Victory. The one major hit from the recording was Michael’s duet with Mick Jagger, “State of Shock.” The next year, Jackson began to put charity first and co-wrote and sang (along with Willie Nelson, Tina Turner and nearly every pop star known at the time) “We Are the World,” on behalf of USA for Africa.

Then came the 1987 album Bad, which was when some slippage in his popularity was beginning to show. But still, the album contained many hits.

Also at this time, the reclusive Jackson, who was raised a Jehovah’s Witness, started construction on a mini-Disneyland as his residence, which he called Neverland, to make up for the childhood he claims he never had.

In 1993, Jackson addressed some personal rumors telling Oprah Winfrey on her TV show that, contrary to reports that he was bleaching his skin a lighter shade, he in fact suffered from a condition called vitiligo. He also said that his father physically abused him as a child.

Not long after, Michael himself was accused of abusing a 13-yerar-old boy who slept over at Neverland, though police found no evidence to support the claim when they searched the ranch. The case was settled by Jackson for an undisclosed sum. When other allegations of a similar nature emerged, Jackson maintained his innocence.

In August 1994, Jackson and the daughter of the late rock icon Elvis Presley, Lisa Marie Presley, were married – and very soon split up. After their 1996 divorce, Jackson married Debbie Rowe, a nurse in the office of one of his doctors. Two children were born to the couple through artificial insemination: son Prince Michael Jackson, in 1997, and daughter Paris Michael Jackson, in 1998. Jackson later had a third child, Prince Michael Jackson II (nicknamed “Blanket”).

New dad Keith Urban has recently been diagnosed with a slipped disc in his back according to his publicist Paul Freundlich. There’s no word on what might have caused the injury (and in the case of backs sometimes it is unknown) but the injury apparently won’t affect his current touring schedule.

Keith himself mentioned his back problems to his fans at a concert in Konocti Harbor Resort and Spa in Kelseyville, CA on Saturday night.

Urban, 40, has been dividing his time between his North American tour dates and spending time in Australia with Nicile Kidman and their new baby daughter Sunday Rose. The baby is just 7 weeks old.

If you’re following Urbans tour dates he’s next set to perform at this weekends Country Rocks Festival in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, after that he’ll be in New York City at Columbus Circle for the NFL’s kickoff show on September 5th.

Did you know that not only Madonna has turned 50 this summer, but Prince and Michael Jackson are also 50? Prince turned 50 in June, and Michael is set to turn 50 on August 29th!

I was reading an article in People Magazine this morning and it showed pictures of all three pop stars during the height of their career and one thing I noticed is that all three went through a period in the 80′s and possibly early 90′s where they each wore a glove on one hand.

Just an odd little fact that I found interesting, especially since all their birthdays are so close to one another.

I’m watching the Juno Awards – that’s Canada’s music awards which are our equivalent to the Grammy’s and Feist is taking a lot of awards.

The Juno’s are held over two days. There was a private dinner ceremony on Saturday night where the bulk of the awards were handed out. Feist pretty much took the big awards – Artist of the year and Song writer of the year.

Other than seeing her perform her song 1234 for the itunes/ ipod commercial on TV I’ve never really seen Feist perform.

I can’t say that anymore! She performed at the Juno’s and totally blew me away. In some ways she reminded me a little bit of Bjork but with a much more mainstream sound. I’d love to go to one of her concerts. I’m sure she’d be a performer worth seeing.

Avril Lavigne also performed at the Junos. She sang Girlfriend. Her backup dancers where sturdy looking girls. It a way it was nice to see more “every woman” type dancers highlighted in an area where usually only the thin and skeletal get to play.

Other big winners at the Juno’s were Finger Eleven for Rock Album of the Year – Them Vs. You Vs. Me.

Everyone likes a little bit of trivia now and then don’t they?

If you enjoy playing games where your knowledge of trivia matters you’ll love the Trivia Games website.

When you visit the site you’ll see that there are a number of Trivia topics ranging from Music, Entertainment, Sports and even jackpot games. The games are none stop so you can enjoy them 24/7 and even earn money while playing.

When you sign up as a member of Trivia Games you can play against other members in trivia tournaments, write trivia questions to stump your opponents and even create your own personal trivia page.

Also, when you sign up as a member you are given $5 absolutely free so that you can try the games and when you start playing for real you’ll get a 50% bonus. The real money games are not available in all US states. For example if you live in Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, or Vermont you won’t be able to play the real money games. You will however be able to access the free games and they are plenty fun.

I signed up just to check it out and as a Canadian it looks like I have access to both the free and money games, I got a $2 bonus when I signed up and then another $3 when I confirmed my registration.

When you select a game to play – I chose Entertainment Trivia – a large screen comes up and you can choose from a variety Trivia games. Some are free, and the rest have a variety of entry fees ranging from 50 cents and up. Once you pick a game to play all you need to do is wait for it to start and then begin typing in your answers when a question pops up. It’s easy and fun.

The trivia questions are chosen randomly from the TriviaOnNet question banks by an automated game logic.

Other than joining in the Trivia games or playing in Trivia tournaments registered members of Trivia Games can create their own blog, create buddy lists, join discussion groups, invite friends, or add photos and video. There’s quite a community feel to Trivia Games.

In my short experience in using the site I found that Trivia Games worked well on my computer system (PC) and that the games were easy to join and fun to play.

So if you enjoy playing Trivia games go to the Trivia Games site and sign up. I’m sure you’ll have fun!
