Keith Urban has a back injury

New dad Keith Urban has recently been diagnosed with a slipped disc in his back according to his publicist Paul Freundlich. There’s no word on what might have caused the injury (and in the case of backs sometimes it is unknown) but the injury apparently won’t affect his current touring schedule.

Keith himself mentioned his back problems to his fans at a concert in Konocti Harbor Resort and Spa in Kelseyville, CA on Saturday night.

Urban, 40, has been dividing his time between his North American tour dates and spending time in Australia with Nicile Kidman and their new baby daughter Sunday Rose. The baby is just 7 weeks old.

If you’re following Urbans tour dates he’s next set to perform at this weekends Country Rocks Festival in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, after that he’ll be in New York City at Columbus Circle for the NFL’s kickoff show on September 5th.

Country singer Keith Urban has officially been released from rehab. He’d been there since October 19th, 2006 for treatment for alcohol addiction.

Urban and his wife actress Nicole Kidman were seen on Monday night at the private CAA Golden Globes after party in L.A.

He’ll be flying to Germany on Thursday for television appearances there. Urban was on leave from Rehab over the holidays and he and Kidman spent some time together in Sidney during that time.

Keith plans to take up where he left off by promoting his latest album. Urban is planning on kicking off his Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy World Tour sometime this April in the UK and Germany. Australia, the US and Canada are planned tour stops set for this coming summer.

Nicole Kidman and her husband Keith Urban made their first public appearance together since the Country Music star began rehabilitation for drug dependency.

A beaming Urban was dressed casually in jeans and a loose blue stripped shirt while holding hands with Kidman at a private screening of a movie in Sydney on Wednesday. Urban didn’t speak with the media as they exited and left in a black luxury car.

Urban, the Country Music Associations best male vocalist of 2006, checked himself into the Betty Ford Clinic for alcohol abuse last October. He’s acknowledged that he’s struggled with cocaine and alcohol addictions in the past.

This was the first time that the pair had been seen together in Australia since the couples wedding at Beachside manly this past June.
