There are so many celebrities these days that seem to have drug and alcohol abuse problems isn’t there? I mean we’ve recently heard about Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Keith Urban and so many more. It’s endless.

I suppose drug and alcohol problems have always been just as common with celebrities as it has been with regular every day people. It just seems so shocking when we hear about a star who has a problem because we’ve often only heard good things about them up to that point because they have good PR people who manage to keep some of the bad stuff they get involved in out of the press.

Luckily normal non famous folks don’t have the pressures of fame and the media to deal with. We do still have a lot of stresses on our lives and I believe that is why so many people fall into relying on drugs or alcohol to take some of those stresses away.

Luckily, a lot of people wise up – celebrity or normal people, and seek out drug addiction treatment when they realize they have a problem. Sometimes they need a loving push from friends and relatives of course.

I suppose I’m lucky that I’ve never had to deal with those personal demons, but I am a nurse by profession and I’ve certainly been one of the people recommending that those with addiction problems seek out treatment at facilities such as Stone Hawk.

Stone Hawk is a rehabilitation facility in Michigan. It appears to be a spacious and lovely facility near a lake. A nice peaceful setting. Just the type of place that someone battling an addiction needs to go to in order to get away from temptation.
