Prison break and other great shows return next week

Did you ever get so excited about the return of a TV show that you’ve mistaken the actual date it was on and either missed it or perhaps jumped the gun by expecting to see it earlier than scheduled?

I did that last night. I saw that there was a two hour Prison Break on and I knew the season premiere was coming up so I set my PVR to tape the show and wrote a post on one of my other blogs about how happy I was to see this show returning and how I was taping the season premiere. Oops! It wasn’t the premiere at all. It was a rerun of last seasons finale!

I’ve got egg on my face for that post! Oh well … maybe it will serve to remind people that there are a lot of our favorite shows set to return next week! Prison Breaks season premiere is on September 1st along with several other shows. It seems that many of our favorite shows are coming back early this season, perhaps because they have un-shown episodes due to last years writers strike.

Gary Dourdan talkative after a few drinks

Wordless Wednesday

garydourdan.jpg

Gary Dourdan of CSI Las Vegas was caught on TMZ camera after he’d had a little too much to drink.

I’m not sure exactly when he got talkative on camera, but TMZ showed a clip on their new TV show last night and he can babble!

He kind of looks like he’s about to start crying in this shot, doesn’t he?

Burn Notice – a new USA Network series

Are all your favorite TV shows on break until next September or October? Tired of Reruns? So am I, so am I.

Which is why I’m excited about a new show – USA Network’s Burn Notice – it starts on June 28th.

The series, staring Jeffrey Donovan, is about a CIA operative, Michael Weston, who gets a burn notice. The show will co-star Gabrielle Anwar, Bruce Campbell and Sharon Gless.

Apparently a burn notice is an official statement by one intelligence agency that goes out to other domestic and foreign agencies stating that a group or individual has become unreliable. This is probably the worse thing that could happen to a spy!

I wonder why a burn notice might have been put out on Michael?

I bet that after years of traveling the world doing undercover work for the CIA and being cut off from friends and family he finally met a woman. Perhaps it was just mutual interest at first and maybe he only met up with this woman a few times a year when he happened to be operating in the area she lives in. But then … love grew and he started to route his operations towards her city and they began spending more and more time together as love bloomed.

Perhaps, one night while he was on a date with her a big undercover operation took place and his fellow agents or perhaps cooperative foreign agents couldn’t get in touch with him and the operation failed.

What’s worse is that no one told him he was fired. After his date he tried to check in with his contacts and none of his contact numbers worked anymore. He was completely cut off.

Yeah, yeah I bet it’s something like that. Their operation failed and they missed catching a really bad person or perhaps a group of terrorists all because Michael was on a date and falling in love?

You can go to the site to watch a pre-view and read an overview of the show. I kind of like my idea of how he ended up getting a burn notice but you’ll have to visit the site to find out if what I’ve written is true or false.

I think this could be a good show! Be sure to tune in on June 28th.
