UPDATE:

At approximately 4:10 a.m. December 30th, CNN began airing video tape acquired from Iraq TV of a portion of Saddams hanging.

He was led to the gallows wearing a dark coat, perhaps a suit coat. He was shackled and handcuffed as he shuffled forward awkwardly. He looked calm and resigned to his fate. He was offered a head covering by the gallows men but he refused to wear it. Instead one of the men placed the head covering around Husseins neck somewhat like a scarf, perhaps to protect his skin. A noose was then placed around his neck and tightened. The video froze with Saddam looking straight ahead as he stood on the gallows waiting for the bottom to drop out and be hanged.
