Win $500 for commenting on 451press Blogs

I don’t think I’ve told my readers here that I write several blogs. One of the blogs that I write is called “Watching House” and it’s on the 451press.com network of blogs.

I just found out that they are having a comment contest. I believe it started on January 8th and runs through to the end of the month. You could win $500 just for leaving a comment on any of the 451press blogs – with the exception of the main 451press.com blog itself.

You see, 451press is a new network of blogs. I believe the network began in October with a call for writers for various blog topics. I answered a call for new bloggers in late November and I was signed on to write my Watching House blog that discusses the TV show House M.D..

I do write ups of House, show recaps, discuss various aspects of the show and the stars that play each character. I also spend a lot of time writing about the gorgeous Hugh Laurie and his life outside of the show.

I’m not quite sure just how many blogs are in our network now but I believe it’s well over 100 blogs. I’m sure that if you come to visit you’ll find several blogs on topics from your favorite TV shows, Favorite Celebrities, Home and Garden, Books, Sports and leisure and many other categories that you’d be pleased to read and leave a comment on for your chance to win $500.

All you need to do for a chance to win is to leave a quality comment on any of the 451press blogs. You need to write a comment that contributes to the blog, or the post in particular on which you are leaving your comment. Every qualifying comment made on the 451 press blogs between now and January 31st will be entered into a random drawing for prizes. Every comment that you leave will count as an entry. Just remember you comments must be of quality – not just a “hello, great site” as that won’t count.

Here’s a list of the prizes:

We will award six prizes to the six randomly chosen comments from this month. There will be one (1) $500 cash prize and five (5) $100 cash prizes. We will contact the winning commenters using the email address they enter with the comment. Comments made through January 31st will be entered in the contest and the winners will be announced on February 1st.

So what are you waiting for? Start at my Watching House Blog and then scroll to the bottom of the page that you’re on to see the wide variety of blog categories and visit another one of my fellow 451press bloggers sites and leave them a comment too.

Saddams Hanging to be Televised

saddam.jpg The date and timing of Saddams hanging hasn’t been set yet, but as of late Thursday it was said that when he’s turned over by the American Military to the Iraqi Government he’ll be hanged within 36 hours, and hanged before the start of the Muslim holiday on Sunday.

Saddam was convicted in the deaths of 148 people in 1982 earlier this year. Several sources have said that Saddam’s execution would be videotaped by the Iraqi government, though it isn’t clear if this will be released to the public or broadcast live over the networks.

“We will video everything,” Iraqi National Security adviser Mouffak al Rubaie told CBS News.

The Iraqi government released video last Tuesday of the hanging of 13 convicts, so it’s presumed that the hanging of Saddam will eventually be aired. ABC and CBS said they wouldn’t air the full execution if the video became available.

“We’re very aware that we’re coming into people’s living rooms and that there could be children watching,” CBS News senior vp Linda Mason said.

“We have very, very strict guidelines with how to deal with that,” said Bob Murphy, senior vp at ABC News. “If there were pictures made available of the execution, they would have to be viewed by senior management before we would put them on the air, and we would make a judgment of taste and propriety of what we would show.”

CNN and Fox News were still in discussion of what they would do if footage became available. The newly launched Al-Jazeera International network hasn’t stated if it will air the videotapes yet either. Al-Jazeera’s pan-Arab channel has never shown an execution.

What’s your take on this? Would you watch Saddam Hussein?

Rosie and The Donald at war

Rosie O’Donnell and Donald Trump are at war.

The trouble started this past Wednesday when Rosie openly called Trump a “snake-oil salesman” following Tuesday’s announcement that he would not fire Miss USA Tara Conner. The war continued on Thursday when O’Donnell made more comments on the View and went on to post her thoughts on her blog.

“What a fun night of viewing,” O’Donnell said on the air about the TV news coverage of her feud with the star of The Apprentice.

Trump fired back in his own so eloquent way in a segment on ET The Insider:

Trump plans to sue her for questioning his financial situation as she had stated on her blog that Trump had been near bankruptcy in the early 90′s. As you hopefully saw when you watched the video, Trump threatened to have some men woo O’Donnell’s companion, Kelli Carpenter. O’Donnell stated on Fridays “The View” “I brought Kelli here today. I was afraid to leave her at home, in case someone with a comb-over came over and stole her from me.”

I’m beginning to think that Barbara Walters made a big mistake in hiring Rosie for The View. Last week she offended the Chinese and this week she’s gunning for Trump. Who will she set her sights on next week I wonder?
