Wordless Wednesday

Our yard seems to be a haven for animals. We have all types of birds - including the dreaded pigeons, squirrels, the occasional raccoon, and then there’s the stray and or wandering cats that travel through our backyard pretty much every evening.

I didn’t take this photo, but I certainly could have. You see, we have a similar type of wooden birdhouse attached to the electric pole in the corner of our backyard. Well, the pole is actually in the very corner of our neighbors yard, but it’s our bird house on the pole.

I’ve seen squirrels site just the way this cat is sitting on the bird house. As if they were waiting and watching for something to happen down below. I’ve also see a cat, just once, perched just like this on our bird house. I’m certain the cat was waiting for a bird to either come out or visit the birdhouse.

Birds aren’t all that stupid though. I think it would have to be a pretty stunned one to visit a bird house with a big predator sitting on top of it!
