Also, regarding the whole concept of using soap to blast aphids away... you should be very careful not only with the proportions, but also the type of soap you use, since some soap formulas include very aggressive chemicals asides from bleach. Fast and easy. With soap, just make sure you don't mix it too strong or it can bleach flowers. 1:40 is the right proportions. Soap works but so does a strong blast of water with aphids.
