I love browsing through Interior Design sites

by Tricia

As you might already know from reading this blog and some of my other sites I’m very interested in renovation, DIY projects and Interior Design. In order to get ideas for my own projects I watch some of the TLC shows about renovation and design, and I often find myself browsing through Interior Design websites.

One of the sites that I’ve just been visiting is called Long Beach CA Interior Design. Obviously they specialize in work in California. That’s pretty far away from me so all I can do is browse.

I really like the kitchen and bathroom designs that I found in the sites Interior Design past projects section. They did this kitchen and bathroom in a Spanish Hacienda style home. The exterior has a real Spanish feel to it, but the inside is very modern and definitely influenced by North American trends.

Are you like me? Do you enjoy looking at the way interior designers design the look of a room or home? If you do, do you get ideas from the designs that you see that you can use in your own home?

oh man, i totally hear you on this! i can spend hours (a full day, even) sitting on my butt watching HGTV/TLC/etc.. What’s your favorite design style? my favorite is mid-century modern, we’re talking eichlers to danish-lane, noguchi tables, saarineen, eames era herman miller, and many more! and who doesn’t love a good flokati or cow skin on the floor! haha. i work for HGTV, and lately i’ve been really been into their show “BOUGHT & SOLD” (sundays at 10pm) which is all about the real estate industry. i had no idea there was so much involved! they even do staging to improve the overall design of the seller’s house, to make it more commercial to a wider range of people. fascinating. anyways, if you’re interested you should check out http://web.hgtv.com/webhgtv/images/pac/59889/start_at_home.html?section=boughtsold,panel=videos . what do you think about it?

Love those TLC and HGTV shows. Addictive to the max. I find I like most styles as long as they are livable. Practicality has to be there, otherwise i get real annoyed. Like when they build the worlds most uncomrotable bench, or paint the walls in furious red…you know that will be repainted a week later. I also can’t stand when they take away from real value like covering hardwood with vinyl, or painting exposed bricks. Anyway, modern asian is my fave.

I’m always interested in the innovative bedroom designs they do, Id love to have like a completely remodeled bedroom with loads of like hidden storage like they always do on those shows.

it’s always good to keep an open mind and see what other designers are doing. it keeps your ideas fresh and keeps your style evolving.
