Well it's interesting, but I think the Live Earth concerts were worthwhile, if only to get some communal global feeling of 'we're actually doing something' after the knockdown of the various bush administration policies. Also we could be seeing the environment heading into politics as a result of it being publicy backed by an ex vice-president, along with his sellout movies and books. Once the world's most powerful country starts taking a majority interest in the worlds environment then we could be on the right track, even if it is too late...

My problem with Live Earth is that it generated 1,000 tons of garbage, it would take 100,000 trees planted to offset its carbon emissions (in 24hrs), and the rockers traveled an estimated 200,000 miles by plane, train, and automobile to get there. And for what? To "bring to light" global warming? I think we are all aware of it, to be honest with you. I'm not a global warming denier or anything like that. I'm a big nature guy (and nature blogger!) who thinks we should all conserve, pollute less, and waste less, but the whole thing seemed a bit self-serving.

Also, and although I do believe global warming exists, I'm a bit skeptical as to how much of it is our fault. We definitely have a negative impact on the environment. Without a doubt humans negatively effect nature. But the earth has gone in and out of Ice Ages and in and out of tropical periods many many times, all before humans even existed. We've had times with ice at the equator and other times with lush green in Greenland.

Long story short, my take on global warming is simply that we should all take the time to conserve, pollute less, and waste less, and protect the environment around us.

Love the blog!

It all makes a difference not only living green but living with a mind toward setting ourselves a little aside for the greater good of all.

We don't have a car, no airconditioning.
We are careful with our clothing.
Buy what doesn't polute as much, what doesn't come from far, re-use, recycle.

No posh presents for people at their birthday, but something homemade.
People love to have a wirtten poem on self made paper from old rags.
