During the most popular vacation period in July, we have had lots of rain, and quite cool weather. August (when we´re bakc at work) seems to become hotter though... Today we are having 26ºC but Friday we'll have another heat wave with temperatures of at least 40ºC. Regarding the neighbors, I know they can be very annoying, mine are for a different reason, if we come outside we have at least two kids walking through the front door to play with my kids, and sometimes it's hard to say they can't. Not knowing 'the lay of the land' there, I wonder if you couldnt erect a trellis or similar uncomplicated structure, and underplant it with a fast growing vine - if there are many windows she can spot you from - you might need a few.....ah well, just an idea from someone who would really not be able to cope with that situation - good luck to you both!
