Clematis Jackmani close up

A lovely Clematis Jackmani in the rain.

My oldest clematis vine is the Jackmani. Each year it grows in two directions along our wooden fence and reaches 15 to 20 feet each way. It’s huge. I drape the vine across the top of the fence as it gets fuller and heavier and when it blooms there’s a rich thick carpet of deep purple flowers.

Simply lovely! Jackmani was the first Clematis I had too! Unfortunately it got a disease and died for me just when it were speeding up the blooming :-(

It’s the most popular Clematis (or was at least) in Sweden.

Very pretty! The rain on it makes it even better! I wish rain would fall on any of my flowers or vegetables!

    Happy GTS!

I am becoming a real fan of purple/blue flowers. This is a beautiful flower and even more of a gem with the raindrops on it.

I quite like Clamatis, but when we moved to our house it had completely taken over the garden, its a very aggressive plant!

Looks like it got a good drenching!
I love purple flowers in the yard. One of these days I’m going to get lucky with a clematis ;~)

Love your picture. The color is so pretty. We don’t have any where to put clematis but would love to have one some day.

You just can’t hardly beat ‘Jackmanii’ when it comes to clematis. Very reliable and always so healthy!

I imagine your vine is gorgeous when in full bloom. Unfortunately, we can’t grow clematis here, but my son has this variety on his fence in Denver. I always photograph it when I visit in summer.

If captain Lifecruiser is right it’s probably a Jackmanii that came with my parent’s alottment garden. I loved those flowers and their vibrant purple!

Your can’t go wrong with pictures of raindrops on flowers.
    Gorgeous.
I have one clematis and I vowed to myself that I would put in more next year.

That is a beautiful picture. I’m not a big fan of flowers but your blog definitely caught my attention with these pictures.
