I am not sure what combinations we will have as we are only going to be in our first year with a backyard garden.

Currently we have a big mess of plants that were here when we bought but ones I don't care for. The remind me of old cemetery flowers.

Last year we removed the ones we don't care for and this year we plan to start adding.

My wife and I are going through books and magazines looking for flowers and shrubs that will please us and make our yard look great.

We are really excited as we have been married for more than 25 years and this is the first time we are able to have a yard with flowers and a vegetable garden.

I am sure I will get more inspiration as I look through your site.

What a beautiful gardening blog. I love your pictures and combinations of plants. They're a great contrast in colour.

I know myself I love hosta's, those are my favourite perennial plants. My favourite hosta is the patriot hosta, such a magnificent plant with beautiful colouration. The combination I like to use are hosta and stella d'oro.

I love your blog and keep up the great work and beautiful photos. Will definitely stop by again and again.

Sincerely,

Jamie Boyle

Hey Tricia - your Japanese Maple is absolutely lovely!

I'm liking Hosta's more and more - they're easy to grow, easy to transplant and create such lovely colour.
