I have heard that leaving dog fur will deter other animals from coming in that area. They see the dog fur as a predatory marking and scent and stay away.

Did this experiment work? Did they really work ? For my country, we put a bottle of water at the place which cat will appear, and guess what, cat would not get close to the place with a bottle of water, reason ? I don;t know but it just happen to be so.

Brilliant idea, so how was your experiment ? Did they really work ? Nice read, thanks for sharing.

Great idea, we used to get the cats jumping around on our bonnet of the car all the time leaving scratches and whatever else behind, very fustrating situation it is, I think having a pup in the front yard is one of the greatest ideas! I will be interested in reading the outcome of your trial. Some neighbours don't seem to realise how disturbing their behaviour can be. hopefully your new neighbours are a little less intense.

I haven’t ever heard about leaving dog fur around to deter other pests. I've used my cats' fur to deter rabbits from digging up my tulip bulbs. I even spread it around my plot at Rutgers Gardens to keep the woodchucks out. I'm not sure if it worked or if the woodchucks just didn't like anything that I planted!

Very effective technique.
