My twisted garden
This weeks theme is Twisted Isn’t it funny how strange some plants look either as they are developing or after they’ve bloomed? The photo above is of a seed head from a Hybrid Seiboldiana Clematis. I grow several types of clematis and this is the only one with a strangely twisted seedpod. Most of the rest of the clematis develop seed heads that look more like this: Do you have any plants in your garden who’s leaves or flower buds look strange at the beginning or end of their life cycle?

I love this. It is beautiful, isn’t it? It reminds me of a woman’s hair. We know there is some reason for it to be formed like that. Now if only I knew what a clementis was . . .

I was going to guess this was a clematis before even reading! I love these little “puffs” of seed head! We had a couple of clematis (I don’t even remember which ones now, sadly, only that one was a deep purple and one was white.) when we lived in Georgia. We moved the year after we got them in the ground. Sad.
My “twisted” photos are plants this week, too… come visit!
