rudbeckia bud about to bloom

I love the way Rudbeckia (also known as Black eyed Susan) buds unfurl as they prepare to bloom. They look like some kind of alien creature about to be born don’t they?

i also love rudbeckias… and they’re wonderful to observe as they open themselves to show their lovely face to the world… you’re lucky to have captured them as they start to bloom… it appears to me that the petals are fingers covering one’s eyes as he readies you to a wonderful surprise :)
