Finger picks?

Posted in Guitar Equipment, Technology on Mar 01, 2007

Has anyone ever tried these things? The last time I tried them was when I was trying to figure out the banjo! They are silver coloured picks that are used to pluck the strings from bottom of the string upwards. They can be sized to any finger. One size pretty much fits all I think.

They are fine for this finger style technique but my style has my fingers move both upwards and downwards as well. This is where the problem begins. The tip of the pick tends to go under the string when I move in an upwards motion on the strings. No matter how careful I am at a fast picking, I still run into this problem.

Does anyone have an idea to this problem?

Keep on jammin’

[...] Guitar Finger Picks This gift will make them try out different approaches to playing and even challenge them to branch off in uncharted musical waters! The worst this one can do is make them think about using it and you never know, it might provide them with a different style to add to their arsenal. I have some National Brand metal Fingerpicks and Dunlop 9002P Medium Thumb/Finger Picks . Both of these picks are designed to be flexible enough to mold slightly to the guitarist’s fingers. If you look at getting the plastic ones, I boil them in hot water before molding them to each finger. [...]
