My new blues guitar hero

Posted in Bruce Cockburn, Entertainment, Guitars, Musicians, Playing Styles, Recreation, Video on Mar 19, 2008

I’ve said before that I was directed to this guy by way of Bruce Cockburn.

It was not for his personal charm but for his technique. This man had a huge influence on Bruce’s approach to acoustic guitar picking so once again, if it’s good enough for Bruce then it’s good enough for me!

Now if I came across this little gem of a video before he sent me his way, I think that I would have looked him up anyway. Decide for yourself.

“Poor Boy, Long Ways From Home” is the one for me. Mister Hurt, a true musical legend.

You can say that again John.

I wonder how many people are really aware of this legend? He looks like a guy you’d love to have met at least once. Just hearing his tales of past experiences would be mind blowing. But the biggest honour would have been to see him play while camping, sitting beside a camp fire, WOW!

Thanx for the post and I hope that we can hear from you again sometime!

    Keep on Jammin’ John!

I’ve written this blog to share my enjoyment of music, the guitar and other instruments and I hope that I can offer information that might be useful to others who are interested in playing the guitar.
