Dear John

I've been streaming this to the masses for ages now! I honesty hope that I will touch a few lost musical souls out there and guide them to a greater knowledge and appreciation of what it is to be a great music musician. John is that beacon of light!

Thanx for the comment John and hopefully you too will help attract new listeners!

Keep on Jammin'

John is a great player!

It is nice to see someone with his influence in pop culture being an advocate for good songs, good music, and actual talent.

There is a lot of really horrible stuff out there.

Mr. Mayer definitely is helping turn people on to the long lost ways of music that requires talent!

Thanks John!

The gist is that erosion of income due to the Internet and digital technology is causing artists to make up lost revenue by raising ticket prices. If they are premium acts they can raise them a lot. This article documents an economic study on it: http://www.irs.princeton.edu/pubs/pdfs/484.pdf

I did a brief summary here: http://www.guitarboomer.com/2008/02/rockonomics-or-why-does-it-cost-so-much.html

I'm having to break down and go to see Robert Plant and Alison Krauss on their Raising Sand tour this summer. Because it is considered in the top five for concert tours this year it is going to be costly.
