Here’s some interesting judgments for you:
1. In October, a judge of Scotland’s Greencock Sheriff Court dismissed the traffic charges against Hui Yu, a college student from Beijing, because he disregarded two police officers’ identification of Hui. As he made his decision the judge said = “ All Chinese people can look the same to a native Scot. It’s only when you have time to look that you begin to see the differences.”
Maybe they look the same to him, but he’s basically calling the police officers stupid and possibly stereotyping Chinese people by saying they all look a like. Time for this judge to open his own eyes.
2. Guy Fournier, The chairman of the Canadian Broadcasting Corp., resigned in September after giving an interview to a French magazine in which he expounded on, as The Associated Press put it, “the joys of bowel movements.”
1. How strange that the judge actually admitted that.
2. Well, to each his own joy, I guess.
