I’m destroying my image here lately. I’m not supposed to have nice photos on this site! They’re supposed to be funny, silly, stupid even … sigh …

This is a photo that Trish took last July when we were driving to Ottawa to go to her aunt’s 80th birthday party. It was a really nice summer day and we stopped by a lake about half way through our drive to stretch our legs and take some photos.

I remember it as being a hot steamy day, but it was nice by the water. It was great idea to stop. Trish spent some time at the edge of the water looking for frogs and turtles. We did manage to find some small leopard frogs, but they hopped away too fast to take any good pictures of them.

In case you don’t recognize the plants by the water that’s bull rushes in the foreground. I think the blown looking plants are either older bull rushes or perhaps some blown milkweed.

Hope everyone’s having a great Saturday!

Check out the photos that Trish put up on As the Garden Grows and Tricia’s Musings too! They’re great!

This is what it must look like from a child’s perspective. I really like this shot - it feels like the cameraman/woman is hiding or in stealth mode. *grin*

    Enjoy the weekend!

Wonderful photo of cattails! We call them cattails. In fact I never knew till now what bullrushes were until your photo and commentary. Now I know more about the story of Moses! :=)

We have a lot of marshland around here too. I love the bullrushes and the water behind. It is so calming to sit and watch all the wildlife making their homes there.

We call them Cattails, and they will start shedding and look like dandelions blowing in the wind :)
    Very soothing photo!
