I remember reading about one that was rescued from a drug dealer who had been abusing it. They raided a house for drugs and found a dog beat up and in the freezer. Incredibly, he was still alive and they saved him. They were impressed with how intelligent the dog was, and ended up training him as a dog that sniffs out drugs. He ended up being the best police dog and resulted in many major drug busts! There have been many crime fighting dogs.
