Poor animal’s a pack dog

Wordless Wednesday

I suppose it would be handy having your pet dog carry your groceries home for you, but that load looks way too heavy for that dog to me!

Looks like a miniature burro to me. We have miniature ponies on a small farm near us, so it’s not that much of a stretch…

My dog loves wearing a backpack. She carries her water bottle and mine and my newspaper and I think she feels kind of important.

All this time I thought that giant Saint Bernard was just a hubcap-poop-producing, drooling machine.

I could have been putting her to work! She weighs more than both my kids put together, plus I’ll bet she wouldn’t try to hide in her room to get out of work.

Plenty of dogs used to be pack animals.
Cesar does it all the time on Dog Whisperer.

My little Sharpei is only a 55 lb dog, but he routinely drags my wife around. He could easily be carrying half his weight in gear…

    Hmmm….

He looks like he likes it to me, animals are happy when they are performing a useful task. Ever seen a sheepdog at work? poetry in motion.
