Passing the blame

When Ruth Park’s lost in her re-election bid as 2001 recorder/treasure of Horseshoe Bend, Ark, she filed a challenge with the Federal appeals court. This past March the court turned down her challenge.

She had blamed her election loss on a conspiracy by the Mayor and Police Chief however, the court ended up concluding that it was the voters, not a conspiracy that led to her defeat.

The voters might have lacked confidence in her since she has a prominent belief in UFOs and she and her husband have conflicting views as to whether she’s personally ever been abducted by aliens. She says she hasn’t, but her husband states that she has many times and that the aliens have left scars.

Burglar hitches a ride

According to police in Corapolis Pa, and elderly woman gave a bank robber a lift, unbeknownst to her at the time of course. Juanita Bland, 75, had been stopped at a post office in Coraopolis just before noon, two weeks ago, when suddenly the sliding door of her minivan became stuck. Her van is equipped with an electric door and ramp for her wheelchair.

“I couldn’t get out of the van, so I waited a few moments hoping somebody would walk by who might be able to help,” said Bland. “Then I saw this fellow walking my way, so I beckoned him over and asked if he could please help with the door.”

According to the police the man that Juanita beckoned over had just robbed a PNC Bank. The man got into the passenger seat asking for a ride after he slid the stuck sliding door closed.

“He didn’t seem threatening or anything, so I said ‘OK’ and drove off,” she said. He exited a few blocks later, got into a white sedan and drove off.

One of Bland’s friends called her later that day wondering if she’d been abducted because another one of the ladies acquaintances had been listening to the police scanner and had heard that the suspect had gotten into her van.

“When I think back now of what could have happened, I feel blessed that I’m OK,” Bland said.

She sure is lucky. It’s probably a good thing that she didn’t suspect anything otherwise things might have turned out very differently.

Radar dome causes strange occurances in UK?

Strange things are happening near a landmark in North Norfolk, UK.

As travelers pass the giant grey “golf ball” radar dome their cars suddenly cut out, their instrument panels fail, their lights go out. Occasionally, the motorists speed dial will register that the driver is traveling at 150 mph or zero. Sometimes these malfunctions only last for a few minutes, other times the cars have to be towed to the nearest garage to repair the damage.

These malfunctions only seem to happen as people drive past the radar dome, and all of these occurrences have taken place over the last few months, with an increase over the last three weeks or so.

When the cars arrive at the garage for repair they sometimes find that there is permanent damage to electrical instruments in the car resulting in costly repair. Other times the mechanics simply disconnect the cars battery then reconnect it and all is well.

Residents near the golf ball shaped grey radar dome have not experienced the same troubles as people driving cars in the vicinity of the dome. Residential television sets and radios appear to be working without interference. The radar dome is a key part of the nations radar defense system. Obviously things have changed at the dome in recent months, perhaps they have increased the frequency or output. Officials are investigating the complaints of strange occurrences near the Trimingham radar, but they state that the radar is operating legally and that there are no guarantees that the radar is the cause of reported incidents.

Residents driving through this area must think that they are about to be abducted by aliens when their car suddenly cuts out or their instrument panel goes wacky.
