A few months ago a 55 year old woman was about to go into the Virginia Lottery office to cash winning lottery tickets worth $10,000 when she was attacked.
The two men who attacked her are now behind bars. Blake Jordan and Kenneth Marshall, both 22, apparently attacked the woman with a hammer. They’ve been charged with maiming, attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.
One of the men is apparently a nephew of the 55 year old woman. Isn’t that cold blooded?
Keary Fox, 56, a lottery worker, first hear the woman scream at 1:10 pm so he ran outside and saw Jordan on top of the woman. He put Jordan in a headlock while a customer took the hammer out of his hand. The pair held him until police arrived. Marshall was arrested later in the day.
The woman suffered lacerations to the back of the head. Lucky for her that lottery worker came by when he did or she might have had worse injuries or perhaps even have been murdered.
A would-be mugger ended up apologizing to his victim stating that he had the wrong guy.
The 36 year old man pulled a knife on a man who was unloading his groceries just outside of his home. This occurred in Fond du Lac.
The mugger asked for money and tried to punch the 27 year old man, however another man intervened by pulling the mugger away.
The suspect returned sometime later to apologize stating that he mistook the victim for someone else. He was arrested later that evening as he left a convenience store and held in the Fond du County jail on a charge of disorderly conduct and use of a dangerous weapon.
Can you imagine being attacked and then having the mugger come back and say sorry I though you were someone else? Strange!
In February two anti-whaling activists created a plan to attack a Japanese whaling ship near Antarctica with a bottle of acid and a smoke bomb. One activist was from Australia and the other was from Los Angeles.
Unfortunately the pair got lost in the fog while in their small dinghy and ended up being rescued with the help of several boats. One of the boats was the Japanese Whaler that they had planned to attack.
Once the activists were safe they thanked the Japanese crew, but one said, “I guess we’re back on schedule, and we’ll be pursuing you again.”
A short time later, the activists approached the whaler and tossed the acid onto the deck. Two crew members were injured in the attack.
I’m against whaling but injuring people that just possibly saved your life is just cruel.
When a burglar has to ask the police to help him you know something strange is going on. This was the case in the western city of Katowice, when a Polish burglar end up asking the police to save him after an axe-wielding night watchman attacked and chased him until he crashed his vehicle.
The watchman took the 25-year-old burglar by surprise after he had broken into a house. The watchman hit the burglar three times in the head with the blunt end of an axe, cracking his skull. “The dizzy burglar fled to his automobile and managed to lock the door and start the engine,” a police spokesman told PAP news agency.
The watchman chased the vehicle, shattered the driver-side window and yanked the steering wheel, sending the van the burglar was driving into a mound of dirt.
The burglar called the police when he was trapped in the car. The courts will now decide whether the watchman’s actions went beyond self-defense and constituted a crime.
The burglar’s head injuries were not life threatening. The burglar faces 10 years in jail for breaking and entering. His head injuries were not life threatening, however the watchman could face eight years in jail if charged with fighting with a deadly weapon.
