If you have ads on your site- google adsense, text link ads or if you write blog posts that advertise for other companies and websites - you might want to create a disclosure policy to post somewhere on your blog. You can tell your readers exactly where you stand on the issue of paid ads and making money on your website in one easy to create statement.
I just created my own Disclosure policy using the Disclosure Policy Generator. The generator was very easy to use - 6 steps I believe. Simply choose the statements that best describe your sites policy get to the end and click finish. Then all you need to do is copy and paste the disclosure policy that you’ve pasted into a post or a page on your site. You can change the wording once you copy the disclosure that you’ve created to suit your sides description better.
If you scroll down to the bottom of my site - yep right there under ODD PAGES - yep that’s it, click the plus sign beside the words “Odd Pages” and you’ll find my disclosure policy in there. Read it and let me know what you think of it. I think it’s a great way of being open and honest with your readers.
I’m sure a few of us in the blogisphere have already figured this out but …
A study released earlier this week suggests that the United States could be rife with Internet addicts as clinically ill as alcoholics.
Researchers at Stanford University School of Medicine in Stanford, California, said that their telephone survey indicated that more than one in eight US residents showed at least one sign of “problematic Internet use.”
Most disturbing was the discovery that some people hid their Internet surfing, or went online to cure foul moods in ways that mirrored the way that alcoholics use booze, according to the study’s lead author, Elias Aboujaoude.
According to preliminary research, the typical Internet addict is a single, college-educated, white male in his 30s, who spends approximately 30 hours a week on non-essential computer use.
- What kind on internet user are you? Are you only on the internet for an hour or so each day, or perhaps even less?
- Do you use the internet while your spouse is out, before you spouse comes home from work, or after he or she has gone to bed at night? And does your spouse know that you are on the internet when he or she is not home or sleeping?
- Do you think that you are on the internet too much and that it might be becoming a problem?
Maybe we should start a group - Internetaholics Anonymous?
This weeks theme is SAFE

Aw, poor, poor kitty.
No don’t feel sorry for that little goldfish. Feel sorry for the cat ’cause you know he’s not going to give up. He’s going to try and try - every day. That fish is going to taunt him from within it’s safe clear walls. The fish is in more danger of being overfed than of being caught by that daring cat.
Poor, poor Kitty. LOL

I find this story to be unbelievable! I thought Nuns and Priests were supposed to be celibate? I guess this isn’t true of Sister Silvia Gomes De Sousa, 39, who has been charged with threatening to murder, and with arson after allegedly setting fire to the house of the village priest in Roccalumera, Sicily, Italy. Now why would she go and do something like that? Why, well, She stopped by the house where Fr. Carmelo Mantarro, 70, lives and “I just flipped when I came to the house and caught him in bed with another woman who is married,” she testified in a court proceeding. “We had been together four years and I had even had two abortions because of him.”
So it was ok for he and her to be having an affair when they are supposed to be celibate. Even ok that she had two abortions which I thought the Catholic Church frowned upon, but not ok that he was sleeping with a married woman. Ah, I understand, it’s all so clear.
