Angry wife was really fired up

A spurned Chinese wife from the Eastern province of Shandong China was so upset with her husband that she set more than 400 cell phones on fire!

The couple co-owned a successful retail business and when her husband walked out on their marriage she retaliated by destroying their stock of mobile phones valued at more than $42,000 US. After she set fire to the phones she walked out of the house.

Luckily neighbors saw smoke coming from the house and called the firefighters who extinguished the blaze quickly.

The 37 year old woman has been arrested for arson.

Cingular changes name back to AT&T

Isn’t it strange how some of the cellular service companies have been buying each other out, and changing names back and forth? I mean, surely you remember when At&T became Cingular? Well now Cingular is changing back over to AT&T again.

I don’t really care what name they go by, but it seems like poor business planning to keep changing the name of the company back and forth doesn’t it? When consumers like a product they often become faithful to the brand name even if there are better products or service out there. They just refuse to think about another brand name once they find one they like. Think about it. How many people do you know that only purchase GM cars, or perhaps only Ford? Once a die hard brand lover always a die hard brand lover.

Don’t you think AT&T should have thought about that when they changed their name to Cingular? Well perhaps they have been thinking about it now and that’s why they are changing back to AT&T.

Speaking of cellular services, you’ve probably heard all the buzz about the Apple iPhone. Well, when it first came out it was one of exclusive Cingular phones in their line of product and service offerings. Now that the name is changing back over to AT&T the Apple iPhone will probably end up being the first cell phone under the new AT&T brand.

I think that maybe AT&T would have been better off changing their name earlier in order to make a solid launch of the Apple iPhone product. It would have been better for name branding and consumer dedication to a brand name I think.

What do you think? Does it matter to you whether the cellular service is called Cingular or At&T? Where you loyal to one brand name over the other in the past? If so, why?

Either way, I think the Apple iphone will sell well no matter what the company that sells it is called. I mean it’s a great new phone just jam packed with features.

Free Phones at Wirefly - Razr, Blackberry and more

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that in most cases when you sign up with a cell phone service provider you can often get a free phone with your contract. Trouble is that many of the phones that you get free of charge are not of the best quality. Am I right?

This doesn’t make all that much sense. I mean if your free cell phone lacks features that you like, or doesn’t have the best reception your probably going to start to think that your cell phone service providers isn’t giving you the best service.

You do have other options. Check out the great deals over at Wirefly. When you visit their site you’ll find a number of service contracts that offer a free cell phone. The difference in dealing with Wirefly over many of the other service providers is that the actual free cell phone you get is one of the latest hot models.

I just took a look at the Wirefly site and did you know that you can get a free Blackberry Pearl free of charge, PLUS $50 cash back when you sign up for a T-Mobile account? That’s an amazing deal.

If you don’t need a Blackberry you might be interested in getting a Motorola Razr? This phone is one of the top ten phones available today. I just did a search on the site by choosing to view all of the Motorola cell phones that Wirefly carries. I was taken to a page listing deal after deal after deal. The top deal right now is for a Motorola V195s w/ myFaves. It’s free with a T-Mobile account and you’ll get $100 cash back with a rebate! All of the Motorola Razrs have deals for a free phone and $50 back when you sign up for a T-Mobile account too.

Visit the Wirefly site today. They carry all of the major brand name cell phones, and offer service packages with all of the major cell phone service providers too. I’m certain that you’ll find the phone and cell phone service account that you want over at Wirefly.

Banned items find their way into jail

workplace_ceo

This past October National Public Radio reported that there might be thousands of prison inmates using cell phones while in jail.

The problem with this of course is that cell phones are contraband in all correctional facilities.

The problem has gotten so bad that Maryland State Senator Ed DeGrange said he was sitting at his desk when an inmate called him on his cell phone with a list of general complaints!

A warden in Texas also reported that he had received a call from the mother of an inmate demanding that the warden do something to improve cell phone reception in the prison so that she could talk to her son easily.

I guess we might as well oblige the inmates and set up their cells like the photo above?
