Robber pays his bill

They say the Japanese are very polite people, but this might be taking it to the next level. Police, in Western Japan, are looking for a robber who held up a noodle bar then paid for his meal and waited for his change before making off.

The robber ate a bowl of “ramen” noodles and a side order of fried chicken at a restaurant in the city of Osaka on Wednesday, then he produced a knife forcing a waitress to hand over takings of 46,000 yen ($393).

The waitress demanded he pay for his meal, so the robber gave her 1,000 yen and waited for his 100 yen change before running away.

Now isn’t that odd?

Our Disclosure Policy

If you have ads on your site- google adsense, text link ads or if you write blog posts that advertise for other companies and websites - you might want to create a disclosure policy to post somewhere on your blog. You can tell your readers exactly where you stand on the issue of paid ads and making money on your website in one easy to create statement.

I just created my own Disclosure policy using the Disclosure Policy Generator. The generator was very easy to use - 6 steps I believe. Simply choose the statements that best describe your sites policy get to the end and click finish. Then all you need to do is copy and paste the disclosure policy that you’ve pasted into a post or a page on your site. You can change the wording once you copy the disclosure that you’ve created to suit your sides description better.

If you scroll down to the bottom of my site - yep right there under ODD PAGES - yep that’s it, click the plus sign beside the words “Odd Pages” and you’ll find my disclosure policy in there. Read it and let me know what you think of it. I think it’s a great way of being open and honest with your readers.

Menus to list calories

» by Chris in: Shopping

Do you think this is a good plan or a bad plan? New York’s assault on obesity includes a plan to require some restaurants to list the calorie content of their foods right on the menu. I think I’d like that myself.

New York City’s health department just wants to make diners aware of a meals potential effect on their waste lines. As currently written, the rule would apply only to eateries with standardized portion sizes that already disclose calorie information voluntarily. Mostly, that would mean national fast-food chains, which frequently post nutritional charts on their Web sites or print it on fliers. New York’s Board of Health is scheduled to vote on the labeling of calories for menu items proposal in December. The regulation would take effect in July if it’s approved.

What do you think? If this only affects restaurants that already disclose calories information voluntarily is this going to make any difference? If it required all restaurants to list calories on their menus then I think it would be a big change, but as it stands- not so much of a change is it?

Womans cancer ultimately causes death of son and husband?

A Bulgarian woman who killed her son was released from prison because of terminal cancer. She then went home and killed her husband.

The woman had been sentenced to 15 years in jail for killing her 29-year-old son with a garden hoe in April 2005 while he was sleeping. However, last month, authorities judging her to be in the final stages of cancer let her go home to pass away in peace with her husband at her side. Unfortunately things must have gone terribly wrong once she was home because that was where she stabbed her husband in the throat with a knife.

“It was established she was in the last stage of cancer, she had it all over her body,” said a spokeswoman for the Bourgas regional police. They had presumed she was feeling bad and that she would treat herself and rest. Little did they know that she would become aggressive and end up killing her husband.

The woman, 57 years of age at the time of her second murder, was from a village in eastern Bulgaria and she has been taken into custody again and is awaiting a new trial.

Even in jail her aggression towards her family continues, she’s threatened that, if she is released again, she will kill her second son as well.

I kind of feel sorry for the woman. I know that cancer can change a persons personality, particularly when it affects the brain, but I bet there were some deep seated feelings of hurt and resentment that set off her murdering spree. Perhaps she’d been an abused wife and mother before becoming ill with cancer?
