Angry wife was really fired up

A spurned Chinese wife from the Eastern province of Shandong China was so upset with her husband that she set more than 400 cell phones on fire!

The couple co-owned a successful retail business and when her husband walked out on their marriage she retaliated by destroying their stock of mobile phones valued at more than $42,000 US. After she set fire to the phones she walked out of the house.

Luckily neighbors saw smoke coming from the house and called the firefighters who extinguished the blaze quickly.

The 37 year old woman has been arrested for arson.

Girl swims with hands and feet bound

Now this one’s a strange story …

Little 10 year old Huang Li was watched by her father as she saw in the chilly southern China river, Xiang River, for three hours on October 2nd with her hands and feet bound! Her father believes the task will help his daughter achieve her dream of swimming across the English channel.

Huang Li managed to swim more than a mile in the river in early October. She traveled with the current as she swam moving like a dolphin through the water.

“Her swimming skills are perfect and she insisted on doing this,” Huang Daosheng said in a telephone interview. The girl, who lives in the city of Zhangjiajie in Hunan province, got the idea after seeing something similar on a local television program, he said.

With the Beijing Olympics less than a year away, sports is grabbing greater attention in an already sports-crazed country. Huang Li’s swim is at least the second time in recent months that a child athlete has drawn media attention.

Huang swam in a skirted swimsuit with her hands tied with string and her feet bound with a strip of cloth. Her face had a blue tinge due to the cold.

“It’s not dangerous because, first, her swimming skills are really good and second, I was swimming with her, staying close to her,” the father said. “I had her when I was 35, so she is my heart. I would never play around with her life.”

The father, a teacher who enjoys swimming, coaches his daughter and said the family does not have enough money for her to have a better coach. The girl started the sport when she was six and her father said her goal is to one day swim across the English Channel.

“She asks me every day, ‘Can I achieve this? Is the English Channel wide? Are the waves really big?’” Huang Daosheng said.

Cabbies shape up in Beiging or get banned

Did you know that new regulations came into effect in Beijing China that will affect cab drivers? Apparently drivers whose cabs are smelly will be suspended for two days while they undergo “rectification and reform” guidance.

The city is trying to improve it’s image before next years Olympics. Cabbies can be banned for such things as spitting or smoking, wearing big earrings, outrageous dress styles or radical hairstyles.

“Many drivers pay no attention to appearances. Their mouths stink of garlic and their bodies smell, making the whole cab foul. It creates a bad impression for the taxi industry,” Yao Kuo, head of the transportation management office, was quoted as saying.

“As a service industry, taxis have to think about appearances. So from now on, dying hair a bright red or yellow and making weird hairdos is banned,” Yao said. Shi Xiangpeng, a top political adviser, complained bitterly about the odor of Beijing’s taxis. “Sometimes I could smell an unbearable stink once I got into the cab,” he was quoted by Xinhua news agency as saying.

Gory packages being delivered to peoples homes

How would you like to get this in the mail?

Two packages that contained human body parts - a liver, and part of a human head - were delivered to someones home. The body parts were supposed to have been delivered to a medical research lab, but they obviously didn’t make it there did they?

The body parts had been sent from China. The gory package was mistakenly delivered in early March to the home of Franck and Ludivine Larmande by DHL express. The delivery company driver believed the bubble wrapped body parts were pieces of a table.

“My husband started to unwrap one and said, ‘This is strange, it looks like a liver,’” Ludivine Larmande said. “He started the second one, but stopped as soon as we saw the ear.

“Something wasn’t right. It was scary, and I’m glad I didn’t open them.”

The couple called Kent County, Mich. sheriff’s deputies who examined the packages and determined that the preserved body parts were for medical research.

Unfortunately authorities now believe that there might be 28 more bubble wrapped human body parts dispersed across the country. Two of five packages that had been heading to the Northern Michigan lab broke open scattering their contents. The shipping company, DHL, has been investigating whether it should have shipped the body parts and how the packages were dispersed.

“There will definitely be a shock to people if they see these things, but there is no hazard to health,” Parent said.

You have to wonder if anyone receiving these body parts will think that a serial killer is sending them to them, eh? What do you think?
