Genius 8 year old passes law school entrance exam

Did you hear about the 8 year old Brazilian boy who’d always dreamed of becoming a judge? He just passed a law school entrance exam!

The news shocked Brazil’s legal profession and has prompted a federal investigation!

The Universidade Paulista, a multi-campus private university, issued a statement acknowledging that Joao Victor Portellinha de Oliveira had passed the entrance exam and that it initially enrolled him. But he was turned away from classes when he showed up with his father.

The University now claims that the fifth grader must graduate from high school before they’ll accept him into the university program. A university employee erred when they accepted Oliveira’s enrollment and said that the University fees would be returned to the family.

“I think they should have been more considerate,” the boy’s mother, Maristela, told the UOL news website. “At least they could’ve allowed him to visit the college’s facilities.”

The Brazilian Bar Association said the boy’s achievement should be a warning about the low standards of some of the country’s law schools.

Oliveira is two grade levels ahead of normal for his age, but his mother says he’s not a cloistered genius.

“He is a regular boy,” she told the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper. “He is very dedicated, likes to read and study, but he has fun and makes friends.”

Super sticky stunt!

Now here’s a great idea for the kids to get out of going to school!

A while back teens in Carlsbad, California weren’t able to get into their high school classes. The school has 100 door and every single one was glued shut!

It took the vandal all night to pull off the sticky trick. Whoever did it finished the job before the first staffers arrived at 6:30 a.m.

It took the janitors hours to unseal each door.

Now kids can’t play tag?

Good Grief, what else are they going to ban?

Add two more Massachusetts primary schools to the list of US schools that have been banning the age-old game of tag for fear that children may get hurt and their parents will sue. Officials at McCarthy Elementary School told the local media that the children have been ordered to invent a new no-contact version of the game for safety reasons.

“If the hands come out to touch, then the supervisors ask them to stop,” McCarthy principal Joan Vodoklys was quoted as saying in the Boston Herald Friday. “What we require is that children do not touch each other.”

Do these kids still have gym class? If they do that will probably be banned next. Don’t children need to run around and play to burn off all that extra energy? I some how made it through primary school without hurting myself so badly that my parents thought to sue the school.

What do you think of schools banning games of tag?
