In Ontario they’ve recently suggested or possibly passed a new law banning people from driving while using a cellphone. Perhaps they should look into banning other activities that people do while driving?
In Woodstock Ontario police are warning of the hazards of eating breakfast while behind the wheel. Why? Well, last Friday the Ontario Provincial police responded to a single vehicle crash. When they arrived on the scene they found an embarrassed young woman covered in milk and cereal.
The 21 year old woman was trying to eat her cereal from a bowl while driving on icy roads in the Highway 7 and Wellington County area. She lost control and crashed into the guide posts.
The woman, Louise Light, has been charged with careless driving.

An interesting thing happened the other day. Musician Bryan Maher was in a Long Island cafe when he noticed that his Ford van was on the move. The odd thing was that his dog, Bentley, a Shar-Pei Boxer mix, was at the wheel!
“I left my car running because it’s cold outside and I didn’t want my dog to freeze,” Maher told the Daily News on Thursday. “The next thing I knew, I looked up to see my van coming at me in the window.”
Bentley somehow set the parked vehicle in motion and crashed the van into the cafe window. Maybe he was trying to get to Maher? No one was hurt in the accident, luckily.
“Aw, Bentley was wagging his tail afterward,” cafe owner Patricia McCarthy told the News.

An interesting police chase took place last week near the town of Dussen Amsterdam last week.
A Dutch farmer couldn’t believe his eyes as he watched a car drive through his corn fields only to be joined by two police vehicles in hot pursuit. A helicopter also joined in the chase.
The drive of the car was under the influence of cocaine as he drove wildly through the field.
The 35 year old man was eventually cornered after his vehicle careened into a neighboring orchard and crashed into a ditch.
“Shoot out two tyres… then the problem is solved,” irate farmer Ad Van Schendel told police, according to the Brabants Dagblad newspaper.
Damage to the cornfield was estimated at 7,000-8,000 euros (4,700-5,380 pounds).
