Snake on Wheels

Martin Baylis of Plymouth, Devon was a very nervous man after having had a snake hide in his car for four days He ended up dismantling his car in order to retrieve the serpent.

Martin had been transporting the reptile, Dave the rat eating Sinaloan milk snake, to his 20 year old son Chris’ home when it escaped from the tank. The tank had been in the trunk of the car and by the time the discovery was made the snake had vanished into the vehicles bodywork.

Martin went to work removing the seats and dashboard but he still couldn’t find the snake.

Over the next few days the snake occasionally popped out of crevices in the car three times while poor Martin was driving. Baylis finally managed to trap the sneaky snake in a pillow case.

The dad of three said: “It’s an unnerving feeling knowing there’s a 4ft snake circumnavigating the whole car.”

A different kind of swarming!

Thousands of bees escaped when a truck that was carrying their hives ran off the highway and overturned near a Montana community.

One State trooper, Dell Aman, stated that he’d been stung twice, but he didn’t think anyone else was injured.

“The public was in no way in danger, as long as they didn’t stop to get out of their vehicles,” he said. “If they did get out, they figured out pretty quickly that that wasn’t the place to be — no pun intended.”

The truck had been traveling from North Dakota to California when it veered into a ditch along interstate 94 just at the exit for Huntley. The driver of the truck wasn’t injured in the accident, but he was cited for alleged careless driving.

The truck had been carrying 465 beehives which amounted to nearly 13.7 million bees!

Luckily most of the bees behaved and stayed in their hives but a few thousand got loose.

Once the weather cooled in the evening the bees returned to their hives.

Good thing this didn’t happen in the middle of a city! I’d imagine more people might have been stung if it had.

A curious Emu was intrigued by some golfers recently. The giant bird followed two golfers for nine holes at an Elma, Wash., course, watching every swing and walking around them.

“It was strange,” said Sue McMeekin. “She’s awful big and she made me nervous.”

Course employees called police, who determined the bird belonged to a neighbor and had escaped.

Inmates conceal weapons in unusual and dangerous ways

It’s always interesting to hear what lengths some will go to, in order to break out of prison. Take the inmate at an El Salvador jail who was caught with a hand grenade stuffed up his backside. Novel idea indeed!

During a security clamp down guards at the San Francisco Gotera prison just outside the capital San Salvador found a V40 grenade, approximately the size of a golf ball, lodged inside the man’s rectum.

The search also revealed 16 other inmates who had each swallowed a mobile phone.

“We’ll have to expel the objects and if they won’t come out we’ll have to perform surgery in hospital,” said Alberto Uribe, a spokesman for the El Salvador prison service.

These inmates aren’t too bright are they? Neither are their visitors - read on.

Just last year prison guards caught a female visitor with an M67 grenade in her vagina. She was visiting an inmate in the overcrowded La Esperanza-Mariona prison on the northern fringes of San Salvador.

It’s common for prisoners in the Central American country to use weapons in attempted escapes or to attack fellow inmates and prison guards. Cellular phones are used to order free gang members to commit crimes or smuggle narcotics. They’re probably used to request that weapons be brought into the prison as well.
