Millions of people celebrate New Years by watching the giant Crystal ball drop in Times Square. Not so for those in McDonough, Georgia.
Thousand gathered in the Georgia town on Wednesday evening to watch a giant chicken nugget drop into a vat of dipping sauce.
Huh? Now that’s different!
The two metre tall, 360 kilogram nugget is actually made of plaster and the vat is filled with syrup and food coloring making it look like a honey mustard dipping sauce.
The crowd was entertained by a fire-eating magician, bungee-jumping, a caricature artist and musicians.
The restaurant, Truett’s Grill, part of the Chick-fil-A chain, offered free chicken nuggets.
I wonder how they came up with that idea for New Years?

How much Pizza can you eat at once?
New York’s Sal Carbone seems to be a pizza eating machine. Brooklyn organizers of the pizza eating contest state that Sal wolfed down just a bit more than 15 slices beating his own record of 15.
The contest is held annually at Rocco’s Pizzeria and Carbone was last years winner as well. The event raises money for the child welfare organization MercyFirst. The contest raised approximately $4000 for MercyFirst this year.
The runner up, William Millender, managed to eat 12 1/4 slices.
There was no word as to whether Carbone kept the slices down or how he felt after stuffing himself full of pizza.

Patrons of a local bar persuaded Pat Dykstra, 51, that she was too drunk to drive home. So … taking responsibility she decided to call 911 from her truck to ask for a sheriff to be sent over to follow her home.
She ended her call to the police dispatcher by explaining how dangerous it was for her to be driving while on the phone!
when the deputies eventually caught up with Dykstra her alcohol reading was .14 which is well over the maximum permitted.
Looks like those concerned bar patrons should have taken away her keys! Luckily she didn’t get into or cause an accident.
