Tell your mom you love her with Flowers

It’s Mother’s Day tomorrow! Did you remember to get your mom something? How about sending her some Mother’s Day flowers? It’s probably too late to send them and get them to her by tomorrow but there’s nothing wrong with a belated gift. Mom’s love flowers and gifts at any time, it doesn’t have to be a special occasion.

One thing that I really like about ProFlowers is that their flowers come straight from the fields. Proflowers apparently even oversees the planting of the flowers. So that means between deciding which types of flowers they will sell, and bring them in fresh from the fields for your flower delivery you’ll be sending top quality fresh flowers to your mother or someone you love. The prices should be lower too because there’s no middle man. The Wall Street Journal rated Proflowers as “Best Value” when it comes to quality, price and selection.

Speaking of selection, ProFlowers has an abundance of lovely floral arrangements to choose from as well as a variety of plants and plant baskets. You can even select a Bonsai for delivery! Then there’s their gourmet gifts – chocolate and desserts, fresh fruit, gift baskets, steaks and seafoods, teddy bears and so much more.

If you’re on a budget you can even view the many flower selections and other gift ideas by price. By this I mean you can look at best sellers priced under $40, in the $40 to $60 range, $60 to $80 range, and finally best sellers over $80. I’m sure that if someone were visiting the site and had an idea of how much they wanted to spend they’d appreciate being able to quickly see the best sellers in their desired price range.

I really like this site so I’ve bookmarked it so I’ll know where to take my business the next time I decide to send flowers or other great gifts.

Crumbling graves and wrinkly prostitutes

Grave Danger

Schollevaar: A Dutch woman, Monique Zuydendorp, 40, of Capelle aan de Ijssel was watering flowers on her uncle’s grave in Schollevaar when the grave collapsed.

Suddenly, a neighboring grave subsided and Ms Zuydendorp fell in, landing on the coffin. The grave was that of a woman who had died in September 2005. “It was a horrifying experience,” she told Algemeen Dagblad.

Fortunately she was with a friend who, with other cemetery visitors, managed to pull her out of the grave. Ms Zuydendorp needed medical attention for bruises but says the emotional shock was the only lasting damage.

Hmmm I thought you weren’t supposed to stand on graves when visiting a cemetery? Something about disrespecting the dead?

Old Prostitute, New landmark

Berlin: A prostitute who has been working the streets of a German city for almost 50 years is to feature in a promotional film about the region.

Blonde working girl Brigitte is in her sixties but says, after 47 years on the job in Koblenz, she still has no plans to give up.

“Brigitte is probably the only prostitute in the world who is also a town landmark,” said tour guide Manfred Gniffke.

And she is so well known that producers of a short film promoting the city titled You Are Koblenz hired Brigitte to star in it alongside other local celebrities.

But she says she has no idea why everyone is so interested in her: “I’m just doing my job,” she said.

Toilet landscaping ideas

I understand the reason why these people did this, but if they were my neighbors they might fit into the “neighbors from hell” category:

A couple near Cincinnati is hoping to make a point with a backyard display of 15 toilets and dozens of toilet brushes. The pair launched the display in protest eight months ago after local authorities said they couldn’t build a privacy fence in the yard. The open toilets are filled with plastic flowers; a plastic skeleton sits on one. The toilet brushes stick up from the ground and are painted purple, green, blue, brown and white. When local authorities said the couple couldn’t build a six-foot-high cedar fence, they installed the toilets where the fence would have been. A township official says the toilet display doesn’t violate any zoning regulations.

Well at least they didn’t put these guys in their backyard!
