This weeks theme is Creative When we were at an outdoor art show a couple of weeks ago my wife brought her new camera and I’m glad she did because we found so many different types of art to photograph and get ideas from that it was amazing. We both really liked the metal work artists that we came across. These are frogs, a lizard and a bat. I’m not sure what the red thing is in the lower right corner. It might be a crab? All of these pieces were made with recovered and or recycled metals so I suppose you could say they are eco-friendly to some degree. I just think their cool and yes, very creative.

Metallic beaver
This weeks Theme is Fake Metallic Beaver - just a little one. I’m Canadian, eh. When we see a beaver we have to take a photo of it. Even if it’s fake. We were at an outdoor art exhibition on Saturday when we came across an artist that had created metal sculptures of all kinds of animals. Moose, pigs, frogs, fish, birds and many others. The sculptures were fantastic. I’m sure I’ll be posting more of them here. One of the things that I really liked about the sculptures is the fact that they are made out of old metal items like the moose that’s made out of an old oil tank, or the pig that’s made out of an old propane tank. What better way to recycle?

Bull Rushes by the Lake
This weeks Theme is Water I’m destroying my image here lately. I’m not supposed to have nice photos on this site! They’re supposed to be funny, silly, stupid even … sigh … This is a photo that Trish took last July when we were driving to Ottawa to go to her aunt’s 80th birthday party. It was a really nice summer day and we stopped by a lake about half way through our drive to stretch our legs and take some photos. I remember it as being a hot steamy day, but it was nice by the water. It was great idea to stop. Trish spent some time at the edge of the water looking for frogs and turtles. We did manage to find some small leopard frogs, but they hopped away too fast to take any good pictures of them. In case you don’t recognize the plants by the water that’s bull rushes in the foreground. I think the blown looking plants are either older bull rushes or perhaps some blown milkweed. Hope everyone’s having a great Saturday! Check out the photos that Trish put up on As the Garden Grows and Tricia’s Musings too! They’re great!
