Woman finds bag filled with $65,000!

What would you do if you found a bag filled with enough money to make your life easier?

Debbie Cole of Largo found a plastic bag on the road stuffed with $65,000! What did she do? She immediately returned it to the authorities.

The money had fallen off a Loomis armored car about a half hour before Debbie found it near the Pinellas County solid waste operations facility where she’s employed. She actually thought it was a turtle on the road when she first spotted the bag.

The bag was found at about 7 a.m and it was filled with enough $50 and $100 bills to have paid her salary for two years!

It’s still unclear how the bag happened to have fallen from the truck.

Her boss, Bob Hauser, is unable to give her a bonus or raise for her good deed, but he might arrange for some extra time off.

Cole grew up in Long Island and she says she was raised to be honest. When she was asked if she even thought of keeping the money she stated “Everyone keeps asking me that,” Cole said. “To be honest, no. It didn’t even cross my mind.”

Well good for her! I hope Loomis gives her a bonus for turning in the money.

So - what would you have done had it been you that found all that money? Be honest.

A theft and a good deed all within 24 hours

Denis and Tamie Leporin had purchased new bikes for themselves an their youngest son. The bikes were a Christmas gift, but they unfortunately didn’t get much use. The bikes were stolen from their front lawn.

The irate Pensacola Florida couple posted a sign on their front lawn to let their neighbors and the thieves know how disappointed they were:

“I hope U crooks enjoy our bikes U stole; Merry X-Mas,” the sign read.

A day later the couple heard a knock on their door and when they opened the door they noticed a pick up truck driving away. An envelope containing $200 was left on their steps.
Inside the envelope was also a note that read “For every crook, there are 1,000 good people’,” Dennis Leporin told the Pensacola News Journal.

“I thought it was awesome. We moved here from St. Louis, and folks just don’t do that in St. Louis,” he said.

Tamie Leporin said she and her husband were concentrating so much on the theft that they forgot about the true meaning of Christmas, until they were reminded by the kindness of strangers.

“We just wish there was some way we could thank them,” she said.
