Working in a hospital I know that people, especially kids but not exclusively kids, put things in strange places. The nose and ear are the areas where foreign objects are most often placed by children.
Strange things get in our ears and noses by no fault of our own as well. Medical literature is full of reports of insects crawling into or nesting in peoples ears. One recent case was newsworthy – In May an Albany Ore child had a spider the size of a pencil eraser in her ear. She had to go to the doctors office to have it removed.
The child, Jesse Courtney, was no worse for wear and thought the whole experience was kind of cool even bringing the then dead spider to school to show it off.
Apparently in 1993 there was a British machinist who had bad earaches. It was found that he had a pregnant spider living in his ear. He ended up keeping the spider as a pet once it was extricated from his ear.

Villagers in a remote eastern India village protested after police arrived to arrest a three-month-old boy for robbery.
The boys name was subsequently dropped from a list of those accused of robbing bus passengers last week. Well yeah, the kid can’t even walk, how’s he going to rob bus passengers? An investigation is being conducted to figure out how this happened.
A police officer, Kumar, said the boy may have been named by the complainant “with a malicious intent”. Who on earth would have malicious intent against a 3 month old – more likely I believe, it was a prank.

Now this is odd, Hans Monderman, a Dutch transportation planner is pushing his innovative plans for improving traffic.
Would you like to know what proposals he’s made? Glad you asked. His proposals include eliminating traffic signs and street markings, which he thinks will force drivers to be careful as they hunt for their destinations, and building children’s playgrounds in median strips of roads, figuring that drivers would surely slow down.
Hans – you haven’t been taking your medications have you? Kids playing in the medians? No traffic signs? Hello? People have a hard enough time driving and not getting into problems with traffic signs. Plus- what wouldn’t that confuse tourists and out of towners even more?
What do you think of this proprosal?
