In June an explosion rocked a Calgary Canada neighborhood. The explosion was so big that it sent a garage door flying into a neighbors yard.
Police investigating the scene are blaming the explosion on an experiment gone wrong. It seems that the family was making a little home brew in their garage.
“Initial investigations revealed that the occupant of the home may have been experimenting with a home-made moonshine set up when it exploded,” said a fire department news release.
There were no reports of injuries.
Now wouldn’t that be a surprise if you were sitting in your home and saw a big garage door fly past while at the same time hearing the sound of a huge explosion?
I know that would get me out of my seat fast!

Is this a smart of desperate cat? Or both?
My niece has door handles like that at her house and her Labrador Retriever has figured out how to get out a few times! luckily she lives in a quite neighborhood with little chance of her dog getting hit by a car. Still … it’s not good when pets get out unexpectedly is it?
Do you have a pet that’s figured out how to get out of the house through a door or window or perhaps out of it’s cage or crate?

Last week my wife found the Petsmart bandanna that we were given when we had our Labrador Retriever puppy groomed in January.
I guess she wanted to see if Midnight would tolerate the bandanna on her head like a scarf. To our surprise the scarf stayed on for about an hour before Midnight had either had enough of was sick of us laughing at her.
Doesn’t she look totally pathetic? She reminds me of the elderly women in our neighborhood (mostly Macedonians and Greek) who often wear scarves on their heads.
Here’s another shot:

Poor thing. We won’t do that to her again. Promise.
