I just came across a photography site and forums and I thought I’d hook my readers up with the site info. The site is called Photography Corner and it has Resources for the photographer or hobbyist, forums where you can read up on photography product reviews or discuss the latest photography news, talk to others with similar interests and start meeting people with similar interests.
Members can post their photos in the photo galleries. There are some fantastic shots in the gallery. I’m impressed. I’m also impressed with the forums. There are several topics under which you can discuss the many aspects of photography from having your site or photos being viewed to the latest in photography news.
If you enjoy photography in any shape or form you should visit photography corner and see if you think it as useful to photographers as I do.
This past October, Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, was in Pittsburgh campaigning for U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum. Apparently Jeb Bush antagonized anti-Santorum demonstrators by blowing them a kiss. In the chaos that ensued Bush was forced to take refuge in a train station supply closet.
In other news Kansas state Rep. Vaughn Flora was charged with a misdemeanor after an October political event when he allegedly roughed up an anti-abortion protester dressed as a cockroach. Why would a protester dress as a cockroach? I think that’s a story in itself.
Last August, in Tampa, Tony Katz - a public-access TV host - threw a chair at his guest, county commission candidate Joe Redner, hitting him in the head after he had called Redner a liar and Redner had called him fat.
I thought politicians and TV Hosts were supposed to be refined folk? I guess not if this kind of behaviour proves anything.
Changing a light bulb in Birmingham is getting expensive - the cost is now over 90,000 pounds. News that a council street and traffic lights engineer received 91,000 pounds for 2005/2006 including overtime bonuses, even though he was off sick, caused an uproar. Apparently the average pay in Britain is about 23,000 pounds a year.
Birmingham City Council’s Alan Rudge said he intended to stamp out the practice of workers getting bloated pay packets. Earlier this month, Birmingham council came under fire when news leaked that some road workers, whose job was to paint white lines on the city’s streets, earned 1,000 pounds a week.
Wow, maybe I should move to Birmingham England and get a job working for the city?
When a burglar has to ask the police to help him you know something strange is going on. This was the case in the western city of Katowice, when a Polish burglar end up asking the police to save him after an axe-wielding night watchman attacked and chased him until he crashed his vehicle.
The watchman took the 25-year-old burglar by surprise after he had broken into a house. The watchman hit the burglar three times in the head with the blunt end of an axe, cracking his skull. “The dizzy burglar fled to his automobile and managed to lock the door and start the engine,” a police spokesman told PAP news agency.
The watchman chased the vehicle, shattered the driver-side window and yanked the steering wheel, sending the van the burglar was driving into a mound of dirt.
The burglar called the police when he was trapped in the car. The courts will now decide whether the watchman’s actions went beyond self-defense and constituted a crime.
The burglar’s head injuries were not life threatening. The burglar faces 10 years in jail for breaking and entering. His head injuries were not life threatening, however the watchman could face eight years in jail if charged with fighting with a deadly weapon.
