I wish I were in Germany for Octoberfest!

Anyone planning a vacation in Germany this year? It’d be great to visit in time for Octoberfest wouldn’t it? Beer, sausages, snitchel, and sauerkraut. Yum. If you are planning on going to Octoberfest I hope that you already looked for Hotels in Berlin. I actually think the festivals on right now. Oops. Well maybe next year for Octoberfest then. How about touring some castles or going to some of the famous spa resorts in Germany then?

I’d like to visit Vienna someday. It sounds like such a beautiful city. I know that I’d like to go on some of the walking tours in Vienna and perhaps even do some wine tasting too. I’m not sure that it’d be a good idea to combine the two activities though!

I’ve heard that there’s some beautiful Hotels in Vienna. The Bristol Hotel looks like a castle. It’s amazing! I think I’d want to stay there if I were going to Vienna. It’s a full service hotel from what I’ve read.

Have you been to Europe? Maybe Germany? What Hotels in Berlin would you recommend? As I said earlier theres a lot of reasons to visit Berlin, Germany and I hope that one day well visit that city as well as Vienna and a few other European must see cities as well.

Get your news at Newgie.com

I’ve been checking out a new News site, it’s called Newgie.com. It seems like a good way to get the latest news and to discover what other Newgie members are reading most often.

The newgie site offer a rating system for the various news stories. You can use your mouse to hover over an article that you’ve read and a box will pop up that lets you recommend the story for other readers, discuss it by leaving a comment, or even add it to your favorites.

What I like about this site, when I compare it to Yahoo News- which is where I always used to go to read up on the latest news items is the rating system. The newgie system keeps track of what the other members are reading most often and as a result, when you sign in and check your ” My Newgie” page you’ll see the most popular articles of the day all in one easy to use listing. Yahoo news doesn’t list the news in this manner- yes it does list the most popular stories world wide, but with Newgie you know that the popular stories that you see first are the ones that are most popular with Newgie members.

The Newgie site also lets it’s members submit their RSS feed. If it’s accepted you can add a chicklet to your site so that you can easily share your feed with other newgie subscribers. Pretty cool if you ask me.

It’s really easy to register on the site and your membership is free. Once you are registered, you can start selecting news categories that you want to see when you first visit your newgie page. The site ranks stories based on the interest that other users have shown.

Navigating through the Newgie site is pretty easy to do too. Visit your My Newgie page and if you’ve already set up your preferences all the stories from the topics and categories that you selected will be there for you to browse through, or you can click on your My account page and set up your preferences there, see the stories that you’ve viewed most recently, and manage your categories, RSS feeds and communities.

Self Storage Directory

Are you moving soon or know someone who is? Well I found a site that will make your move so much easier. Thank me know- I know you will. I’m not moving any time soon but I’ve had a lot of friends move to the US recently or just move around the country and I know how much of a hassle that can be.

I have a few moving horror stories and I’ve heard many of them from my friends and relatives too. Wouldn’t it be nice if the whole process of moving were made easier? Well I’ve found a site on the Internet called Self Storage Directory - Moving.bz where you can Find Storage Nationwide and I’m pretty sure that it will make the job of moving a lot easier.

Just log on to Moving.bz where you can easily search for storage by city, state, or zip code. From there you will find some companies - moving, storage, rentals etc and you can get more information and quotes from them. You’ll be able to receive up to four local quotes. You can also find other services that are related to the whole experience of moving such as packing supplies, Real Estate services, truck rental, hourly moving labor, and moving companies.

I’m definitely recommending this site to my friends when they tell me they are moving.

Spotting Mortgage Fraud

I remember when we were house hunting, god I hope we don’t do that again for a long time. The experience of dealing with a real estate broker, real estate lawyer, mortgage broker and securing a mortgage with the bank were all new, and frankly intimidating experiences for the two of us. Plus, it was around that time that we started hearing more and more stories about Mortgage Fraud in the news.

The news stories were about Mortgage scams where you’d be approved for a loan at reasonable rates but before it was finalized the mortgage company would ask for fees for this or that, and then perhaps ask for more money stating that your approved mortgage wouldn’t be finalized until you paid the rest of the fees they were asking for at that time. Then there were other stories about hidden fees, people being told their month payments would be lower than what they ended up paying in the end. It sounded like there were a lot of scams going on out there and that we’d better be careful in our hunt for a mortgage.

We did our research, talked to friends and ended up using a Real Estate broker and Lawyer that had been recommended by our friends, but it was still a stressful process. It would have made things a bit easier if we’d come across personalhomeloanmortgages.com when we were buying our house. There is so much information there, that I would have appreciated as a novice. There’s articles explaining mortgage brokers, Understanding home equity loans, Mortgage basics - called appropriately Mortgage 101. You can do local searches by city to search housing market trends, local mortgage and real estate related service provider listings.

If you want to learn more you can visit their Financial Forum and talk with others about things like how to spot hidden fees, and which types of loans work best plus hundreds of other topics. You’ll feel secure when you use this site because all customer data is protected through SecureTrust.

Have a look at this site if you’re in the market for a new home or looking to renew the mortgage on your home. I think you’ll get some very useful and timely information that will help you make the decisions that are right for you.
