Stay in a Vacation Home on Kauai

Planning your winter vacation? Perhaps you want to visit Hawaii? Why not do something a little different this time round?

Most of the time when people go on vacation they end up staying in one room hotel or motel rooms. How boring is that? Yes I know, if you’re having a good vacation you aren’t in the room all that much, but still wouldn’t it be nicer to stay in one of the beautiful Poipu vacation rentals or the Waipouli Beach Resort? Personally, I know I’d much prefer that to a one room cramped hotel room any day.

If you want to stay in beautiful vacation rental homes and condos you should visit the RE/MAX Kauai website. They specialize in rentals on the beautiful island of Kauai.

One of the great things about staying on a vacation rental is that you can stay with your family or friends because most of the vacation homes have two or three bedrooms. Some have several bedrooms. Share the cost of the rental with your friends. Maybe your vacation will even end up being less costly than if you’d simply rented a hotel room.

Visit the RE/MAX website and take a look at the Waipouli, Poipu and Kauai vacation rentals. You can browse through all of the listings and book vacation accommodations while online.

Self Storage Directory

Are you moving soon or know someone who is? Well I found a site that will make your move so much easier. Thank me know- I know you will. I’m not moving any time soon but I’ve had a lot of friends move to the US recently or just move around the country and I know how much of a hassle that can be.

I have a few moving horror stories and I’ve heard many of them from my friends and relatives too. Wouldn’t it be nice if the whole process of moving were made easier? Well I’ve found a site on the Internet called Self Storage Directory – Moving.bz where you can Find Storage Nationwide and I’m pretty sure that it will make the job of moving a lot easier.

Just log on to Moving.bz where you can easily search for storage by city, state, or zip code. From there you will find some companies – moving, storage, rentals etc and you can get more information and quotes from them. You’ll be able to receive up to four local quotes. You can also find other services that are related to the whole experience of moving such as packing supplies, Real Estate services, truck rental, hourly moving labor, and moving companies.

I’m definitely recommending this site to my friends when they tell me they are moving.

50 year old Postcard finally arrives!

Long Lost Postcard

Deland, Fla. Talk about getting lost in the mail. A postcard sent from a Florida home to a man in Riverside, California, was returned this week with a “return to sender” stamp — and its 1956 postmark.

Mack McCormick didn’t send the postcard, but he lives in the home where the postcard originated. It was delivered to his mailbox Monday. McCormick tracked down the author of the note, 64-year-old George Hitz, who now lives in Massachusetts. Hitz, a former ham radio operator, included his age on the postcard and information about a radio contact he made in 1956 with someone he called “Chief Operator Dave.” Postal officials say no street address was included for Dave, which may explain why the postcard wasn’t delivered. They guess the card made it to California and was rediscovered recently by someone who dropped it back in the mail.

A Disorderly House:

If you’re thinking about throwing a party, make sure you can keep it under control. Otherwise, you might find yourself behind bars, for “maintaining a disorderly house.” This is the case of a 21-year-old Nebraska man, at least, is now serving a 30-day jail sentence because of a wild party.

According to a story in the Lincoln Journal Star, Mike Herchenbach wasn’t even there when the party was raided by local police, but that didn’t stop Lancaster County Court Judge Gale Pokorny from slapping him with both a fine and some time at the Lancaster Correctional Facility. The house party happened while he was out of town visiting his parents, and his two housemates were entertaining the 170 or so beer-guzzlers, with the tunes cranked up to 11 p.m. But since Herchenbach is the one whose name is on the rental lease, he was held responsible for all activities.

Now he is apparently serving his sentence, watching drunk drivers, and other social menaces pass through in less than half the time serving their sentences. “I think Pokorny wanted to make an example of someone,” he is quoted as saying, “and I just happened to be in the courtroom on the wrong day I think.” The two housemates who were actually at the party both got off with fines.
