Thousands of bees escaped when a truck that was carrying their hives ran off the highway and overturned near a Montana community.
One State trooper, Dell Aman, stated that he’d been stung twice, but he didn’t think anyone else was injured.
“The public was in no way in danger, as long as they didn’t stop to get out of their vehicles,” he said. “If they did get out, they figured out pretty quickly that that wasn’t the place to be — no pun intended.”
The truck had been traveling from North Dakota to California when it veered into a ditch along interstate 94 just at the exit for Huntley. The driver of the truck wasn’t injured in the accident, but he was cited for alleged careless driving.
The truck had been carrying 465 beehives which amounted to nearly 13.7 million bees!
Luckily most of the bees behaved and stayed in their hives but a few thousand got loose.
Once the weather cooled in the evening the bees returned to their hives.
Good thing this didn’t happen in the middle of a city! I’d imagine more people might have been stung if it had.
A California man who was recently busted for secretly videotaping women is suing cops for the return of his porn collection, which they seized during their investigation.
Dennis Saunders, 59, filed the suit after cops refused to return his 500 porno movies and 250 magazines. His lawyer insists the carnal collection has nothing to do with the case.
Saunders was arrested for taping women at the apartment complex in San Rafael where he worked.
Back in 2002, the owners of a coin-operated car wash in Maryland had a hard time trying to figure out why they kept losing hundreds of dollars each week from their machines.
There was no evidence that the coin machines were being broken into, yet things just weren’t adding up.
The owners set something up to observe the machines and that’s how they discovered who was stealing the coins. It was small birds. They were getting into the machines through the coin returns and flying off with the shiny quarters.
Did you hear about the kind New Zealand burglar?
He snuck into a home through a window and stole several items such as the property owners laptop, camera and wallet. Unfortunately the couple were unable to make insurance claims on these items for some reason.
A short while after the burglary the couple returned home to find their missing items along with gloves and a basketball that had been purchased using their credit card. The kind hearted burglar had left a note apologizing for robbing them and stated that he’d leave money in their mailbox to pay for the window that he’d broken.
I wish all burglars only borrowed things!
