A sculpture in a Norfolk gallery caused a stir among some residents in November forcing the removal of the Buddha statue. Police told staff that the figure was offensive.
The piece was called A Trilogy: The Iconoclasts and it featured the religious figure with it’s genitals comprised of a banana and eggs!
In other strange statue news:
Yorkshire residents were bemused by the appearance of 19 carved stone heads. The heads were adorned with a symbol that seemed to spell Paradox. The heads showed up in Goathland, Kilburn, Rotherham and Arthrington and they had a note attached which read “Twinkle twinkle like a star, does love blaze less from afar?”
Were these stone heads a message for a loved one? Perhaps.
In villages across Northern England, as many as 20 miniature versions of the Easter Island head sculptures have been mysteriously left on doorsteps outside post offices.
Each of the carvings, some as tall as 18 inches, is slightly different, yet they all bear the same riddle on a blue note card: “Twinkle twinkle like a star, does love blaze less from afar?” The word “paradox” is written around the points of a star.
Authorities suspect that it is a publicity stunt of some kind, but so far no clues have been found as to the identity of the head carver.
Security camera footage caught a glimpse of a man getting out of a car, but his face was unrecognizable. He has been leaving the heads on doorsteps since August.
This weeks Theme is Fake

Metallic Beaver - just a little one.
I’m Canadian, eh. When we see a beaver we have to take a photo of it. Even if it’s fake.
We were at an outdoor art exhibition on Saturday when we came across an artist that had created metal sculptures of all kinds of animals. Moose, pigs, frogs, fish, birds and many others.
The sculptures were fantastic. I’m sure I’ll be posting more of them here.
One of the things that I really liked about the sculptures is the fact that they are made out of old metal items like the moose that’s made out of an old oil tank, or the pig that’s made out of an old propane tank. What better way to recycle?
This weeks Theme is Shiny

Last summer we went to Chicago to visit my brother and his family. It was a long drive back and forth and a very short visit. We were there to go to a concert and well visit with family.
During one of the days we were there we drove into downtown Chicago and proceeded to take our own walking tour of the city. This shiny moose was one of the great sculptures that we saw and photographed.
We loved Chicago BTW. It’s very much like Toronto. If you ever get to go to either city you’ll now have an idea of what the other one is like.
