Man is hopping mad over losing leg!

In November two North Carolinian men fought over a bizarre custody dispute. The battle wasn’t over children. Uh huh … it was over an amputated leg!

John Wood missed payments at a storage facility where his barbecue was kept and the item was auctioned off. Unfortunately for him he forgot that he’d kept his old limb inside the barbecue.

Shannon Whisnant, the BBQ’s new owner has been busy charging curious residents of Maiden to see the dismembered appendage. She plans to keep it and she’s threatened legal action if Mr. Wood attempts to reclaim it.

Now isn’t that bizarre?

Unethical politicians

Doug Guetzloe, one of central Florida’s most prominent political operatives and subject of investigations by the Florida Elections Commission and a highway agency in Orlando, had long eluded criminal charges by denying any knowledge of unethical activities in which prosecutors were sure he was involved.

But late last year, Guetzloe missed a payment on his rental storage locker, and 50 boxes of his personal and professional records were seized and auctioned for $10 to a curious citizen, who then gave them to Orlando’s WKMG-TV, which had several earlier investigations of Guetzloe pending.

Based on early readings of the storage-locker papers, Guetzloe was indicted for felony perjury in March, and the case continues.

Need to put some things in Storage

I don’t know how but we seem to have collected a lot of stuff over the years. All of our drawers are full of things we barely use, the kitchen is full of appliances- some that are only used once a year, 7 guitars and all the equipment that goes with it, art supplies, tools, massive amounts of photo albums and then there’s all the saved computer parts and books too.

It’s not like this stuff is cluttering the place. It’s all put away fairly neatly, but we’re never going to use all that stuff. Well not until we finish renovating the whole house anyway. Then the framed paintings and photos will go on the walls, and the appliances in the kitchen will be in areas where they can be seen and used more often etc.

I’ve been thinking about putting all that extra stuff that we aren’t or can’t use right now into storage. We could use this Self Storage company or rent a storage unit. I guess we’ll have to sit down and talk about it, but I think if we start renovating or at least finishing the work that we already started it might be a good idea to move the extra stuff right out of the house and put it into storage. It would make it easier. Plus the company that I just linked to above makes it easy to find local storage companies. I bet we could find a few close to us to use.

flash thumb storage drives

» by Tricia in: Technology

Now this is something that I can use, and I hope that you can too. Have you see some of the USB flash thumb drives in stores recently? I actually thought about getting one this past summer to help with transfer data from computer to computer or for when I go out of town. I could easily put my guitar tabs and music documents onto a flash drive and take them with me in case I wanted to use them on someone else’s computer.

I can think of so many practical uses for a portable thumb drive it’s unbelievable actually - music storage, your kid carry homework back to school on a USB drive, copying files from the work computer so you can work from home and on and on. The possibilities are endless. Well I think they are. What would you do with a thumb drive?

Pexagon tech is selling USB flash thumb drives right now for a very good price. 1 gb drives are going for $20.00 and 2 gm drives are $38.99; not only that- they are offering free lasor engraving of your name or business name on the case. Wouldn’t that be handy if you layed your thumb drive down and forgot it? Whoever found it would know who to return it to, heck you could even have your phone number engraved on the case.

You can select a range sizes of thumb drives from 512 mb to 4 gb and you’ll have 5 different color choices for the case. I’m quite impressed with the design of the product, the small size and of course the pricing.
