A shot in the dark

A Port St. Lucie Florida woman has been held on a gun charge after she claimed that she accidentally shot her husband in the head after being startled by the burglar alarm.

April Moylan, 39 years of age, was charged on Wednesday with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and has been ordered held on a $75,000 bond.

Sheriff Ken mascara stated on Wednesday that the attorney’s office is going over the facts of the case and additional charges could be laid in the future.

Now here’s where the story takes a strange turn:

April’s husband, Michael Eugene Moylan, 45, awoke early Tuesday morning with a severe headache. The couple went to the hospital where the bullet was discovered in Moylan’s head.

It was first thought that Moylan might have been the victim of a stray bullet but it was later discovered that the couples stories didn’t match up.

The couple finally fessed up and told authorities that April sleeps with a loaded .32 caliber gun under her pillow. When the burglar alarm sounded at 4 a.m. Tuesday morning she grabbed the gun and it accidentally discharged a bullet into her husbands head just behind his ear.

The couple hadn’t wanted to tell the truth because they are both convicted felons and as a result are not allowed to own a gun so they came up with the headache story.

April was previously convicted for sale and delivery of cocaine in Palm Beach County. At this time her husband Michaels criminal record is not available.

Michael Moylan’s head wound was not considered life threatening. He’s recovering in the hospital.

It seems that Michael is a lucky man! I wonder what other charges the couple might face when the investigate concludes?

Salty Women

If you came here for Photo Hunters I haven’t thought of anything for this theme yet. I may still come up with something … but I’m trying to figure out how to combine Salty – this weeks theme – and funny. Give me some time – I may still come up with something yet!

I did come up with something – see photo below!

In other news – I slowed down on posting this week. Sorry about that. It’s not that there’s been a lack of Odd news, weird news or dumb criminal stories to write about. Nope, I don’t think that people will stop doing stupid things. It’s just that work has been so busy this week that I’ve been exhausted by the time I come home and haven’t put much time into bloggin’. Sorry about that!

I’ll leave you with a funny photo. I was saving this one as a blooper since it looks like none of the ladies from either basketball team wanted to catch the ball. However, now that I take a better look at the photo it might fit the theme this week … those ladies have got to be sweaty after running around playing basketball … and sweat is salty .. so yeah, this fits this weeks theme:

Salty, stunned basketball teams:

This weeks theme is Growth

There were a lot of funny things I could have done with this theme but many of theme were potentially offensive so I decided to play it safe:

Growth

This reminds me of stories I hear at the hospital where we both work.

Patients that are given medications that are suppositories trying to eat them, and of course sticking medications that are not suppositories in places they just don’t belong. Not to mention all the other types of things people put where they don’t belong.

Do you have any stories of uhhh friends putting things in the wrong place?
